Dolphins 0 - 7 Grilled

ouds darkened the skies at West Field as 7000 spectators turned up for the match. Silvio Čerkuč was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Lance Boone and Gabriel Pou Gimenez. Everyone was excited about the upcoming West derby and the crowd was divided evenly. A 3-3-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Dolphins. The following players took the field: Beng-Fai - Yueh-Hsyan, Porsezhian, Choong-hoon - Ngoc-Qui, Saxena, Jing-Sheng - Tsung-Cheng, Trung-Hieu.

Grilled tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. Starters: Abed-Sulaiman - Zywczyn, Lik-Tsun, Talib - MacKinnon, Spirig, Han Kok, Paullin, van Liere - Rotteveel, bin Ku Zainol.

The guests took the lead 22 minutes into the match, after a right-side attack resulted in Han Lik-Tsun scoring the 0 - 1 goal. 28 minutes into the game, Dolphins seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a poor level of organization. The home keeper was stunned 30 minutes into the match when he misjudged the free kick by Sylweriusz Zywczyn and dived in the wrong direction. The visitors increased the lead to 0 - 2. After this, Grilled lowered the tempo in order to concentrate on their defensive efforts. Subri bin Ku Zainol came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle, but he lifted the ball over Ke Beng-Fai and it was a little too high and hit the bar. 41 minutes into the game, Dolphins had difficulty finding their positions and their organization dropped to poor. The home crowd cheered when, after 42 minutes, Hidde van Liere's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day. Halftime score was 0 - 2. Grilled held the ball, with a clear 96 percent of possession.

During the break, Dolphins's coach went through the team's tactics yet again, getting them up to passable organization. Grilled's Nawaz Talib received a play slashing through the home side's central defense after 48 minutes, and chipped it past the keeper to score the 0 - 3 goal. The home crowd was not pleased with that one. 49 minutes into the game, Dolphins had difficulty finding their positions and their organization dropped to weak. A drive on the left side allowed Grilled's Dani Spirig to get in close and score a goal after 51 minutes, leading to 0 - 4. Dolphins had no more available substitutions when Qin Tsung-Cheng had to leave the game after 80 minutes because of a pulled tendon, leaving the team a man short. 85 minutes into the game Dani Spirig could see that the opposing goalie was out of position and tried an unexpected lob that the keeper just barely reached. The rebound went to John MacKinnon who failed to hit the target. The referee signalled a penalty 86 minutes into the game following an offence just inside of the box. Sylweriusz Zywczyn knocked home the 0 - 5 goal just outside the reach of the goalkeeper. A thrilling play through the middle 89 minutes into the match gave Grilled's Subri bin Ku Zainol a chance to increase the lead, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 6. Grilled's Maikel Rotteveel received a play slashing through the home side's central defense after 90 minutes, and chipped it past the keeper to score the 0 - 7 goal. The home crowd was not pleased with that one. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 97 percent of possession.

Wei Yueh-Hsyan performed admirably for Dolphins. Ke Beng-Fai was a disappointment, however. Most important Grilled player was Han Lik-Tsun. John MacKinnon on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 0 - 7.
