Warrior 2 - 1 Grilled

ather conditions were fairly good for football, and Lest We Forget saw a crowd turnout of 97009. Vladimir Kolev was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Ou Yang Yet-Weai and Franco Schaller. Warrior decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. They fielded: bin Zainal - Tian Chin, Shiu-Loong, Lien - bin Moidony, Ming-Foo, Wilmer, Knebelsberger, Siong Yew - Kang-yin, Rosado.

A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Grilled. Lineup: Abed-Sulaiman - Zywczyn, Talib, Bona - Ødegaard, Han Kok, Jie Siong, Spirig, Paullin - Martinsson, Simon.

Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for Warrior on this day. Pressing was the tactic of the day for Grilled. Johann Wilmer's name was chanted throughout the stadium after his goal up the middle after 23 minutes gave Warrior the 1 - 0 lead. Grilled got a chance to level the score as Fabian Bona suddenly found himself free with only the 'keeper to beat, but the finishing shot hit the bar. Grilled had to manage with a reduced squad after 36 minutes, as Dimitri Simon got sent off for a needless foul away from the game's action. 37 minutes into the game, Sylweriusz Zywczyn almost tied it all up for the visitors with an expertly placed free kick. Unfortunately for Grilled, the home keeper made an incredible save. Grilled's right side looked dangerous 39 minutes in, but Afandi bin Zainal made a good save on Ola Martinsson's hard shot to the top corner. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 0. Grilled claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 59 percent.

Grilled's ability to press their opponents all over the field paid off frequently. 53 minutes into the game, Johann Wilmer had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came Juan Antonio Zuazo. Sylweriusz Zywczyn made a good effort at breaking through on the right, but the home team's left defence cleared the ball to a corner. Warrior caught their opponents out with a clever counterattack down the right wing 70 minutes into the match. Gordon Rosado was able to finish off the move - 2 - 0. The home team's fans were upset when, after 79 minutes, the visiting Ola Martinsson broke through the central defence and kicked the ball past the keeper. 2 - 1 was the score. 80 minutes in, Warrior's Wu Kang-yin received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Grilled claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 65 percent.

The most dominating Warrior player was without a doubt Afandi bin Zainal. On the other hand, Juan Antonio Zuazo's play was disheartening. Quah Han Kok performed admirably for Grilled. Allan Ødegaard turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 2 - 1.
