xata clearly preferred using their ability to attack in the middle. Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of Grilled. xata's Paolo Resnati got himself booked for a foul. Due to a severely mistimed tackle, Fabian Bona of Grilled spent some time on the grass writhing in agony before he could get up and continue the game. Weng Seng-Huat received some harsh words from his coach after he acted foolishly 12 minutes into the match, probably out of lack of experience, and almost let an opponent score. The visiting Ulf Hjortlind was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 20 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 0 - 1 was the score. After 23 minutes, Grilled's Fabian Bona burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 2. 24 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 3 as Luis Alcántara finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. It was 0 - 3 at the break. The forty-five minutes were dominated by Grilled, with an impressive 58 percent possession of the ball.

Grilled's Ulf Hjortlind's long shot really ought to have found the net 47 minutes into the match, but it fell just wide of the target. xata's Beltrán Gorgal cut towards the middle after 58 minutes, receiving a brilliant pass and slicing through the visiting team's central defence, putting the 1 - 3 goal away. After 64 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for Qiu Swee Pheng who increased Grilled's lead to 1 - 4. After this, Grilled lowered the tempo in order to concentrate on their defensive efforts. A misunderstanding between the visitors' keeper Ahmed Abed-Sulaiman and his left defence could have resulted in a goal for xata, but Angelo Fiumara's finish was way too lame. xata enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 52 percent of possession.

The most dominating xata player was without a doubt Petre Diaconeasa. Aurélien Richard was a disappointment, however. Most important Grilled player was Ahmed Abed-Sulaiman. On the other hand, Weng Seng-Huat's play was disheartening. The match ends 1 - 4.
