Stars 0 - 3 Grilled
988 spectators had come to All Stars Team Arena this cloudy day.
Marcus Paaske Sørensen was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Andrea Del Sal and
Dan Trif. Stars had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Lineup: Da-Hoon - Steenberger, Brot, Klaghofer - Miljenović, Buchwiser, Trejo, Obarski, Ståhlell - Gutmann, Rudolf.
Grilled had chosen a strategic 4-5-1 formation. Lineup: Abed-Sulaiman - Zywczyn, Kek-Tjiang, Fredgård, Bona - van Liere, Han Kok, Paullin, Spirig, Jie Siong - Simon.
Grilled clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could. Many thought
Halil Gutmann ought to have been awarded a penalty shot 4 minutes into the game, as he went down trying to dribble around
Ahmed Abed-Sulaiman after a determined run through the middle.
Stephan Obarski could have put Stars into the lead after 14 minutes, but the free kick went just wide. The referee showed Grilled's
Quah Han Kok the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Stars had a good opportunity to take the lead as
Ulrich Rudolf came up the left side, but he struck the ball weakly and it went straight into the arms of
Ahmed Abed-Sulaiman.
Boško Miljenović of Stars received a yellow card after 31 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. 0 - 0 was the halftime score. Stars enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 56 percent of possession.
Making his way up the middle 51 minutes into the match,
Mathias Brot almost managed to squeeze a goal past the visitors' keeper, but the alert
Ahmed Abed-Sulaiman blocked it to keep the score level. The goal to make it 0 - 1 was scored by
Sylweriusz Zywczyn after 61 minutes, following an opportunistic counterattack down the middle by Grilled. A thrilling play through the middle 72 minutes into the match gave Grilled's
Fabian Bona a chance to increase the lead, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 2.
Dimitri Simon was, after 74 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but home side's keeper
ZhangCai Da-Hoon made the save. The home side worked hard to get through the middle and as a result, had a good chance of getting one back as
Mathias Brot tried lifting the ball over keeper
Ahmed Abed-Sulaiman. Unfortunately, the ball went just over the bar. Grilled showed their counterattack skill 83 minutes into the match, with
Quah Han Kok scoring uncontested for 0 - 3. The referee showed Stars's
John Steenberger the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. The player down was
Anders Fredgård. The Grilled bench looked worried for a while, but in the end he managed to get up.
Ulrich Rudolf charged down the left and looked sure to score for Stars 89 minutes into the game, but his shot went just wide. Good work by Grilled's defensive line produced a couple of good counterattack chances, one of which cut elegantly down the middle of the pitch and found
Dani Spirig alone in front of the goal, but his shot whistled just wide.
Ãngel Trejo of Stars received a yellow card after 90 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. Stars held the ball, with a clear 56 percent of possession.
Stars's top performer was clearly
Mathias Brot.
Julian Klaghofer was a disappointment, however. The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt
Ahmed Abed-Sulaiman. However,
Lee Jie Siong made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 0 - 3.
