Li Cheng Stands Out
17 year-old Grilled Birds winger Lee Li Cheng got his move today, as Spanish VII.342 club VecindarioFC signed him on a free transfer as part of their second wave of recruits. Head coach Ramon Breva has however gained a reputation as a merciless assessor, with many of his previous buys having not made the grade.
Chicken Wings scout Lim Hock Puay felt strongly that Lee deserved a platform to make himself seen. "It is a pity that we are not in a position to develop him ourselves, because he's one of the most mature wide players that have come through for years. Wingers are rightly known to be a bit reckless, especially in their earlier years, but Lee has a great head on his shoulders for one so young - and he can cover well too."
The lad himself was just happy to find a club several weeks after beginning his search, and he admitted that he had been under pressure from his family to seek a more conventional career. "I guess it worked out in the end."
