Grilled refused to be intimidated and, breaking through the middle, Kendell El Khateeb managed to slip the ball home for 1 - 2. Grilled's Kendell El Khateeb put his head to a high ball coming in from the right after 33 minutes, but the ball went wide. 37 minutes into the match, a typically brave header by Muteba Tasile from Hans-Peter Thulfaut's cross looped just over the opposing goalkeeper's desperate reach. Goal for Casèn, making the score 1 - 3. Central attacks were the recipe of the day for Grilled, as they moved the ball from the wings to the middle with startling regularity. Grilled's Chia Kwang Tse cut towards the middle after 41 minutes, receiving a brilliant pass and slicing through the visiting team's central defence, reducing the lead to 2 - 3. Nisan Shivhon of Casèn received a yellow card after 43 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. 2 - 3 was the score after the first half. Grilled had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks. Grilled's Chia Kwang Tse swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball.
