Syamsuri Go Gialloni
As the Grilled clubs celebrated another national cup, Grilled International's Syamsuri bin Hj Raimi marked a personal first too, as he went on a free transfer to Italian VIII.154 side Gialloni. The 19 year-old fullback was received by new boss Franco Vicenzino at their modest 12000-capacity Shermes Hollock Stadium, after earning the distinction of being their very first buy.
It was a massive turnaround for a player that many had thought overaged to start a professional career, all the more after he had quit the sport for four months following an initial rejection by Symbadisch Brunei. Busy Bees scout Daud bin Radiman saw something in the famously spicy Syamsuri, though, to the extent of keeping him under temporary contract for nearly two years.
"There's a desire in that boy, and I mean that the right way." Daud explained. "He runs after every ball like it's his last! Even if it might not always be the tactically wise thing to do, you can't help but be inspired by that sort of attitude."
