A scorching day at
Camp Nou Singapore, where 63132 spectators were in place for today's match.
Steen Ravnholt was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Vladimiro Marampon and
Arsenio Romero. For some players the sunny weather was bad news. It made Powerful and Quick players a bit sluggish. For Technical players, it was instead an advantage, allowing them to shine on the pitch.

The teams had chosen different formations for the match. Home team
FC Barca Singapore went for 3-5-2 while
Grilled Birds has decided to play a 2-5-3 lineup.
Grilled seemed to prefer attacking in the middle, taking advantage of their
divine (+7) level with that tactic.
Singapore took the lead 13 minutes in, as
Chris Jourdan broke through on the left and put the 1 - 0 shot just beyond the reach of the outstretched keeper. A slight injury to his left calf muscle meant
Sheldon Lightbourne had to leave the match early. It happened after 17 minutes. This gave
Luis Esteban Espeleta a chance to take to the field instead.
Grilled players heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead. After 22 minutes, the visitors levelled the scores after
Lim An Keng made it through the middle and struck home to make it 1 - 1. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
Chad Thach from
Grilled a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 25 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! Some great play up the middle by
Singapore led to a chance for
Adin Åkesson to score after 29 minutes, but the shot hit the crossbar. Down the middle came
Gandhik Chitre, making a fantastic play that nearly had
Grilled take the lead after 34 minutes, but
Ivan Ivić preserved the tie.
Singapore played a good counterattacking move down the left 35 minutes into the match, with
Chris Jourdan finishing well for 2 - 1. 2 - 1 was the score after the first half.
Singapore had most of the ball, with 51 percent of possession.
A cross coming in on the right hand side left
Chia Kwang Tse alone in front of the goal after 57 minutes but his shot was woeful.
Grilled had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks. The visitors almost came back with an equaliser 63 minutes into the match after a good combination through the middle, but when
Lim An Keng tried to finish the attack, he couldn't get enough power on the shot to seriously challenge the keeper. 64 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as
Ajdin Vanović broke through, making the score 3 - 1 for
Singapore. After 64 minutes, the
Singapore players received new instructions from their manager on how to keep in control of the game.
Chris Jourdan wanted to play on, but the
Singapore coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 64 minutes into the game by
Ramji Shenoy. 88 minutes into the game,
Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Paulino Trindade gave
冬馬 (Toma) 田宮 (Tamiya) a quick hug as he left the field. As the 89 minute mark approached, the
Grilled coach decided it was time for a substitution.
Raúl Himadas reluctantly made way for
Mohsen El Khateeb on the pitch. With
Raúl Himadas no longer on the pitch,
冬馬 (Toma) 田宮 (Tamiya) became the new set pieces taker. After 89 minutes, the
Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving
Gandhik Chitre off the field.
Chan Ze Han" class="awayplayer">
Chan Ze Han took his place. As the match nears its end, the referee has deemed it appropriate to add 2 minutes as stoppage time. The match ends 3 - 1. Neither team was controlling the possession at this point in the match, with the stats showing a 50:50 split.
Singapore's top performer was clearly
Suat Esener.
Grilled's best player was
Lim An Keng.
