After 3 minutes, Grilled put themselves up 0 - 1, as Gandhik Chitre finished off a strike from the left with a real cannonball of a shot. With 7 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed Chia Kwang Tse of Grilled to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 2. 14 minutes into the game, Hurricanes seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a passable level of organisation. Hurricanes's Adam Beneby has the wonderful ability to create chances out of thin air. 18 minutes into the match he bamboozled a couple of opposition defenders before sending the keeper the wrong way and sidefooting the ball home into an empty net. That totally unexpected burst of flair made it 1 - 2. Almost all the way down to the corner flag, Grilled's 冬馬 (Toma) 田宮 (Tamiya) somehow managed to get a perfect pass into the middle, impossible to miss for Lim An Keng, who struck for 1 - 3. After 30 minutes, Grilled's Chia Kwang Tse burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 1 - 4. Paulino Trindade could have put his team up another goal 37 minutes into the game, after a rush down the left, but his closing shot hit the post. With 39 minutes played, Marko Rosaleck of Hurricanes fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. 1 - 4 was the halftime score. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 74 percent of the ball.

During the break, Hurricanes's coach went through the team's tactics yet again, getting them up to solid organisation. Dimitris Germanakos would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. Dahan Bok entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 46 minutes. After 59 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave Chad Thach a chance to increase the lead for Grilled, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 1 - 5. After 62 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for Mohd Marzuki Khairul who increased Grilled's lead to 1 - 6. Some fine movement on the left led to a Grilled goal after 74 minutes, making it 1 - 7. 冬馬 (Toma) 田宮 (Tamiya) was noted down as the scorer. Hurricanes supporters cheered as good work down the right got the ball to Marko Živković who reduced the visitors' lead after 79 minutes to 2 - 7. Grilled increased the lead to 2 - 8 as 冬馬 (Toma) 田宮 (Tamiya) scored from the penalty spot, putting the ball in near the top left corner. 89 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game. Damian Hutter gave José Luiz Velho a quick hug as he left the field. As the 89 minute mark approached, the Grilled coach decided it was time for a substitution. Chad Thach reluctantly made way for Chan Ze Han" class="awayplayer">Chan Ze Han on the pitch. The players were tired, but when the referee announced that there would be 3 minutes of added time they, nonetheless, welcomed the extra opportunity to make an impact. Gandhik Chitre received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 90 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 2 - 9. The Grilled fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. The match ends 2 - 9. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 73 percent of the time.
