Reykjavík Take Tan
Multi-skilled Busy Bees defender Tan Kiong Jia was recruited by Icelandic Division Four side Vålerenga Fotball Reykjavík on a free transfer today, together with Montenegro trainee Ilija Ganović. Tan's early career hit a roadblock when he got rejected by FC Porto 99, the club he supported, but Adinath Pant saw enough in him to bring him to the Bees.
Tan would repay Pant with solid outings both in defence and midfield, and his touch of flair would win another admirer in Vålerenga's Jordanian boss Shadi Qassem Nasralla. "He's a bit unruly, but I like to see lads with fight in them." Grilled International assistant coach Hafiz bin Hj Lamat said. "We will be following his progress with interest!"
