Mak & Azad Go
Two more trainees would take flight today, as Farmer Bunnies' Mak Leong Hui and Grilled International's Azad bin Izmadie left for horizons new. Both seventeen year-olds had graduated from their respective academies recently, and did not take long to line up their offers.
Mak's destination was Colorado, with American V.143 club AFC purav storie appreciating his maturity and speed - or so said their Czech boss, Kazimír Schulz. Mak will have his work cut out for him with Schulz maximizing his fifty-man squad, though, and the defensive midfielder understood that he needs to stand out from the crowd there.
Azad, a passing forward, would instead head for Kenyan III.5 side A.C. Como 1907, albeit also as part of a mass recruitment process by Belgian head coach Juan Opsomer. The cheerful lad would not be discouraged, however, having already endured successive rejections by Finster Brunei and chin champu, before being accepted by the Busy Bees. "I'm something of a survivor, if you haven't noticed!"
