The teams had chosen different formations for the match. Home team Grilled Birds went for 2-5-3 while Gutingi Wizards has decided to play a 3-4-3 lineup. Grilled demonstrated their extra-terrestrial (16) creative tactics on the field. Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for Gutingi on this day, taking advantage of their formidable (9) level with that tactic. After 2 minutes,
Chad Thach came in from the right, feinted, then sped past the off-balance defender to make the score 1 - 0, giving Grilled the lead. That Grilled's
Damian Hutter has the ability of doing what no one expects him to do was shown as he ran over an opposing defender, snatched the ball and passed to
Chia Kwang Tse who hit it hard into the wide open goal after 27 minutes: 2 - 0! With 30 minutes played, Grilled put themselves up 3 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to
Chia Kwang Tse, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home.
Lim An Keng should probably have put his team up another goal after 31 minutes after breaking through the middle, but some great goalkeeping by
Tommy Walch kept the visitors in the game. Almost all the way down to the corner flag, Grilled's
冬馬 (Toma) 田宮 (Tamiya) somehow managed to get a perfect pass into the middle, impossible to miss for
Chia Kwang Tse, who struck for 4 - 0. At that,
Chia Kwang Tse was noted down for a hat trick!
冬馬 (Toma) 田宮 (Tamiya)'s curling free kick almost found the goal for Grilled, but the visitors' keeper somehow managed to get ahold of it. The home side's
Damian Hutter came close to extending the lead 42 minutes into the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but
Tommy Walch managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop. 4 - 0 was the halftime score. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 63 percent.
Radovan Jaška would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise.
Yee Jian Hui entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 46 minutes.
Chia Kwang Tse had a fantastic opportunity to put Grilled up another goal 47 minutes into the match after a pass through the middle set him free, but he fired just over the crossbar.
Chad Thach of Grilled received a yellow card after 50 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. Grilled solidified their lead at the 51 minute mark, as
Chia Kwang Tse dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 5 - 0. After 69 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and
Chia Kwang Tse gave the Grilled supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 6 - 0. Grilled's
Yee Jian Hui got himself booked for a foul. 85 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Damian Hutter gave
José Luiz Velho a quick hug as he left the field. After 85 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving
Chad Thach off the field.
Teo Chuan Yong took his place. The referee announced 3 minutes of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over. With 90 minutes gone, Grilled had a free kick in a decent position. Despite this being a great chance for a shot, they tried a cheeky move intended to bypass the defence. However,
Mohd Marzuki Khairul did not manage to connect with it cleanly and the ball went out. A lovely run by Gutingi's
Lucas Nägele left his markers for dead and should have resulted in a goal, but the finish went just wide. The match ends 6 - 0. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 63 percent of possession.
Chia Kwang Tse performed admirably for Grilled. However,
José Luiz Velho made a disastrous appearance. Gutingi's best player was
Maic Freichel.
Wilhelm Quaderer turned in a dismal performance, however.
