It was to be a contest between two different football philosophies, since the home team started the game with a 2-5-3 formation while the visitors instead opted for 5-4-1. Grilled used their divine (+4) (24) ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings. chicago saw most attack opportunities on the wings, taking advantage of their world class (13) level with that tactic. 2 minutes had elapsed when a great chance for Grilled to take the lead after a good cross from the right found
Lim An Keng alone with the keeper, but he chipped it to the wrong side of the post. chicago took the lead after 6 minutes making the score 0 - 1.
Emil Zöttl placed the ball out of reach for the home side's keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left.
冬馬 (Toma) 田宮 (Tamiya) was doing a great job on his wing, sending in brilliant passes to his teammates in the middle, but
Paulino Trindade seemed unable to profit from this excellent service. Grilled's
Mohd Marzuki Khairul made an attempt at equalising 19 minutes into the match, coming in from the right, but the ball hit the post and the defence easily cleared the rebound. Grilled were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally. After 29 minutes,
Chia Kwang Tse made a dash down the middle past the away team's defenders to score the goal that made it 1 - 1. Halftime score was 1 - 1. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 61 percent of the ball.
Gandhik Chitre caused the crowd to go mental with his goal up the middle after 47 minutes. This gave Grilled the 2 - 1 lead. Grilled solidified their lead at the 61 minute mark, as
Damian Hutter dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 3 - 1. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Grilled's
Chad Thach increasing the lead to 4 - 1. Grilled's
Chia Kwang Tse got himself booked for a foul.
Chad Thach would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise.
Chan Ze Han entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 80 minutes.
Meysam Azadeh went down after twisting his left ankle in minute 81, but was able to continue the match none the less. The home side's
Mohd Marzuki Khairul came close to extending the lead 88 minutes into the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but
Chase Whalen managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop. 89 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution.
Atang Mangoye came on for
Damian Hutter. As the 89 minute mark approached, the Grilled coach decided it was time for a substitution.
Teo Chuan Yong reluctantly made way for
Mohsen El Khateeb on the pitch. As the captain was no longer on the pitch,
Chan Ze Han took over the role of being the Grilled captain. The referee decided to let play continue for an additional 2 minutes beyond the regular 90 minutes. The match ends 4 - 1. Grilled had most of the ball, with 62 percent of possession.
Grilled's best player was
Chia Kwang Tse.
Atang Mangoye turned in a dismal performance, however. Most important chicago player was
Nikita Shishkov. However,
Dwight Babb made a disastrous appearance.
