Doubly Farmed
Newly-raised V.11 club Sports Garden Kickers would begin their first-ever recruitment wave by raiding local youth academies, which included one prospect each from the Chicken Wings and Rancher Rabbits.
From the Wings, they took would-be striker Lee Aik Yau, who has been described as a vanilla prototype of what a modern forward is expected to be. "He knows when to knock 'em in, and when to pass." Wings chief scout Tham Beng Li commented. "Some might say he's lacking that something little extra, but I say he has no obvious shortcomings."
The Rabbits would provide Li Wee How, who remains torn between defence and attack for his professional role. According to assistant coach Fauzi Zahirul Haq, Li has the touch to make it either way. "The guy can make the ball stick to his feet on demand; he can play anywhere he likes, I say!"
