Hurricane 2 - 4 Grilled

Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 5570 at Sweet Hurricane Arena today. Hannes Aebischer was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Cezary Szydłowski and Konstantyn Podkopaev. Hurricane's starters: Arantes - Praga, 渕上 (Fuchigami), Fransson, 大橋 (Ohashi), Brinda - 菊地 (Kikuchi), Perliński, Hawkes, Dembski - Prinčić.

Grilled fielded: Law - Hutter, 其材 (Qicai) - Reddy, Chitre, Keng Chuan, An Keng, 田宮 (Tamiya) - Kwang Tse, Khairul, Teck Fu.

Sweet Hurricane started the game in a 5-4-1 formation, whereas Grilled Birds lined up in a 2-5-3 formation. Down the middle came Mohd Marzuki Khairul, making a fantastic play that nearly had Grilled take the lead after 12 minutes, but Volnei Arantes preserved the tie. 0 - 1 was the score with 19 minutes played, after 冬馬 (Toma) 田宮 (Tamiya) cut through the central defence and chipped home a goal for Grilled. Lim An Keng came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over Volnei Arantes but overcooked it and hit the bar instead. Due to some great work on the right wing Hurricane's Držislav Prinčić was able to even the score after 38 minutes to make the score 1 - 1. Grilled took the lead after 39 minutes making the score 1 - 2. Damian Hutter placed the ball out of reach for the home side's keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 2. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 68 percent of the ball.

As the match clock hit 46 minutes, Grilled regrouped to try and keep their initiative in the game. Gandhik Chitre high-fived Hwang Teck Fu as they swapped positions on the team. After 49 minutes, Hurricane sent a free kick in high over the penalty box. In what looked like a well-rehearsed move, the ball was headed backwards and reached Ralph Dembski, who had plenty of space to place a well aimed shot - 2 - 2. 50 minutes of the match played, and a comedy of errors by the home side gave the visitors a chance at the lead, but Gandhik Chitre, after finding himself dashing down on goal from the left with only the keeper to beat, sliced his shot horribly wide. After 52 minutes, a long pass from Grilled's Damian Hutter caught the defence out of position. 冬馬 (Toma) 田宮 (Tamiya) collected the ball, and with the goal at his mercy calmly rolled the ball just inside the post. 2 - 3. 59 minutes into the match, 冬馬 (Toma) 田宮 (Tamiya) came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide. After 70 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed Chia Kwang Tse to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 2 - 4. As the 80 minute mark approached, the Grilled coach decided it was time for a substitution. Aw Keng Chuan reluctantly made way for Chan Ze Han on the pitch. Damian Hutter would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. Bilal Mohammad Harun entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 80 minutes. As the match nears its end, the referee has deemed it appropriate to add 1 minute as stoppage time. The match ends 2 - 4. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 70 percent.

The most dominating Hurricane player was without a doubt Sorin Brinda. However, Ralph Dembski made a disastrous appearance. Grilled's best player was Chia Kwang Tse. Bilal Mohammad Harun on the other hand, had a terrible day.
