Grilled Birds entered the field in a 2-5-3 formation. The visitors, Turco Sport Clube B, chose to start the game with a 4-5-1 lineup. Grilled broke through on the left 7 minutes into the game, with
Mohd Marzuki Khairul firing in from an acute angle to give the home side a 1 - 0 lead. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
Aw Keng Chuan from Grilled a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 26 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Grilled's
Gandhik Chitre increasing the lead to 2 - 0. At the 41 minute mark, it looked like the opportunity for Turco to score had been missed until
Héctor Furtado suddenly worked his way clear and fired off a spectacular shot. The keeper had no chance! 2 - 1. Things were going to get worse for the visitors.
Chia Kwang Tse squirmed through their central defence after 42 minutes, increasing the lead to 3 - 1. The swift technical skills of
José Fernando Nieves were often too much for the tall but somewhat slow
Lim An Keng who was humiliated after 43 minutes. He'll be breathing a huge sigh of relief after the final shot went wide. Cheers filled the stadium as
Lim An Keng broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 4 - 1 to Grilled. Grilled solidified their lead at the 44 minute mark, as
Hwang Teck Fu dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 5 - 1. 44 minutes in, Turco's
Ariel Szczepaniak received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first.
Lim An Keng neatly controlled the ball after a short corner, and knocked it on to
Mohsen El Khateeb who had the whole net open before him, but only managed to hit the post. 5 - 1 was the halftime score. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 84 percent of possession.
After 46 minutes, Grilled felt secure enough to make a tactical change.
Mohd Marzuki Khairul and
Hwang Teck Fu assumed each others positions on the field. Grilled's
冬馬 (Toma) 田宮 (Tamiya) swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball. Grilled managed to extend their lead to 6 - 1 when
Gandhik Chitre cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. 80 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Aw Keng Chuan gave
Chan Ze Han a quick hug as he left the field. As the 80 minute mark approached, the Grilled coach decided it was time for a substitution.
Damian Hutter reluctantly made way for
Teo Chuan Yong on the pitch. With 84 minutes played, Grilled's
Mohsen El Khateeb almost extended the lead, but his shot from the left glanced off the top of the bar to fall behind the net. Coming from the right,
Teo Chuan Yong almost managed to score another goal for Grilled, but his header was tipped over the bar by the visitors' keeper. Grilled increased the lead as
冬馬 (Toma) 田宮 (Tamiya) struck to make the score 7 - 1 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper. It was announced by the referee that he estimated stoppage time to be around 4 minutes. This meant there could still be an extra attack or two left in the match! The match ends 7 - 1. Grilled had most of the ball, with 86 percent of possession.
Chia Kwang Tse performed admirably for Grilled. On the other hand,
Mohsen El Khateeb's play was disheartening. Turco's best player was
Sebastião Pirata.
Arístides Galavis turned in a dismal performance, however.
