The shock of the season came early, as Grilled were bundled out of the Cup in double-quick time by Division Five side, of Kings n Queens. The sorry show also marked the end of Yao Wai Meng's future with Grilled, and left the club with an empty calendar just a few weeks into their campaign.
The league itself didn't go too badly, and Grilled stayed in touch with leaders Herron and Chemistry by stringing together four victories in a row after the Cup disaster. That streak was broken with back-to-back defeats by defending champions Herron, who were simply a class apart.
Grilled sewed together another five-game unbeaten run, refusing most of the S-League clubs anything more than a single point out of six from their meetings; Herron and Chemistry had however fared somewhat better, and by the last match Grilled were safely ensconced in third position, though with no hope of making second. That last match against Chemistry would play a pivotal role in deciding the title's destination, however, as a win would confirm the trophy went to Herron.

Talib for U-20 Pakistan
Most expected Herron to take responsibility by beating the team that never was, but against all expectations, the team that never was romped to a 3-0 lead by half-time; Now with everything to play for, Chemistry swamped the Birds with their home support firmly behind them, and clinched the title narrowly.
A transfer flurry in the final weeks saw ex-Pakistan U-20 defender Nawaz Talib arrive on the cheap, while Bukhari Abd Hamid left for greener pastures.
