Yhing Jingle
Peter Power
At the recently-departed Jaan Kadak's invitation, Grilled got a exhibition match with newly-crowned Estonian Division Two champions Pimedate Yhing, and the relieved Birds entertained the turnout of nearly 9000 with a playful display against the pink-shirted home team.
The first half belonged to Grilled, as the hosts' attacking 3-4-3 formation gave the Birds plenty of space to exploit after any mistakes. Hjortlind missed his first opportunity as local keeper Aigar Pärt swatted away his lob, but made up for it at the next opportunity.
Bukhari went back to his unsavoury ways as he spat in the direction of an opponent after being fairly bodychecked, and judging from his coach's face after he was carded, he received an earful for that during half-time.
The tide turned after the teams came out of the tunnel for the second half, and Yhing striker Feyyaz Ertuna wowed the Invasportlaste Areena as he sidestepped past Seng-Huat and bent the ball around Bao-Tam for 1-1.
The sides were pretty evenly matched, but victory would belong to the hosts as their Peter Johansson pounded in the deciding goal. Winger Urmas Kadak, a distant relative of Jaan whom acted as go-between, might have gotten another for his club, but couldn't get it past the woodwork.
