Lucifer's Own
Thai Hell
Grilled got a taste of what Division Two might be like, as they were dismantled 5-1 by Thai Division Four side Lucifer Club. They were not helped by injuries to Seng-Huat and Reed in the opening stages at the ends of the hard-tackling hosts, and Chang Wai-fah was irresistable as he stuck four past Huel-sheng.
Grilled had arrived at Phitsanulok feeling all puffed up and ready to go, but were put firmly back into their places after three minutes; Polish midfielder Wieslaw Dudek evaded all attempts to block him, and crashed in a mighty shot at the near post.
Dudek proceeded to send Seng-Huat flying after he refused to pull out of a doomed challenge, and took his yellow card with bad grace even after Seng-Huat was stretchered off. The Birds did get some measure of satisfaction, as
Peter Åhsten outran rightback Scott Lumley to make it all square.
They didn't count on Chang being in such an unstoppable mood, though, and the striker got two in two minutes, one with his foot, and the other with his head. Lumley then sent Reed out of the game with a nasty swipe at his knee, which again only got a yellow from the referee.
With the odds now squarely set against them, Grilled decided to just let the game play out, and Chang Wai-fah preyed on this new unconcerned attitude by finishing up his hat-trick in the 48th minute.
Blissenbach had the best of Grilled's chances, but homegrown keeper Seni Charanya pulled off several great saves to keep the home fans happy, before Chang got a fourth for himself with a surging run between Tuan-Mu and Nor Suhaimi.
