Bannson Bump
Ricard's Reminder
There would be no stopping Grilled as they put in a five-star performance against Bannson's Raiders, who are yet to obtain their first points after narrow defeats to Even FC and star^strikers was followed by a thrashing at the hands of All The King's Men.
Bannson's spirits were probably at an all-time low after that, and there was no hope of recovery after
Ricard Machado breached their defences in the second minute, courtesy of Dai-Lin's flashy run down the right.
The visiting fans must have feared the worst after
Daniel Tellskär rose to head past a sluggish-looking Ahmad on six minutes, and there was talk that the Raiders might not even make it to the second half, so disinterested did their players look.
Their professionalism, coupled with maniac yelling by their coach on the sidelines, awakened, though, and they put up a passable defense for the remainder of the half, even if they didn't manage to keep
Chen Chiew-Yen from scoring after getting close in.
It was still a gutless performance by Bannson's overall, and there was precious little of the team that had finished third with a +33 goal difference last season. Tellingly, Grilled's biggest scares came when Yew-Hoe and Machado pulled up for unrelated foot problems.
Chen would strike again in the 67th minute, and Machado in the 72nd. Winger David Anderwald, who was one of the few Bannson players to never quit trying, got a yellow card in between those goals in trying to stop a Grilled move singlehandedly, but as with his wasted cross to Cheng Hong-Lee later on, it was all for naught.
