Tian Yonghang was clearly sorry for his dismissal, as he bowed to the fans after the game. "I don't know what came over me." the 31 year-old said. "It was extremely stupid, and I'm just glad that the guys managed to hang on for the win."

Djan Bacelar agreed with Tian's self-assessment, adding that he should not take it too hard. "I didn't know that Tian was saving his first ever red card for the S-League!" Bacelar joked. "Since we have the second round of the Cup to burn it on, it's not that big a deal, especially as Tian has learnt his lesson."
Continuing on, Bacelar gave his team seven points out of ten in their S-League debut. "Our offence proved that it is effective at the top level, but our mentality left much to be desired. More experienced clubs will certainly punish such laxness after taking the lead."
