Torna Into Bits
Mironenko Miracle
Pozsonyi Torna Egyesulet of Slovakia were the next in line to punish the Grilled second team, but Grilled once again responded with a single goal to prevent a complete wipeout.
Pozsonyi's young right winger Vladimír Keťko was desperate to make his mark, with rumours swirling that he was on the verge of being released, and showed heart if not prudence when he bundled Tharmini over in trying to get a ball he could never have gotten to. He did score the first goal with a nice strike on the outside of his foot, but his teammates' lukewarm response didn't bode well.
That bit of trivia aside, Matej Jašo then did almost the same thing, but down the other flank, with Branislav Gribovský completing the collection by making his way down the middle. Austrian Werner Eichberger then took over, scoring one, making one and putting away a penalty, all before half-time.
Grilled held out better at the start of the second half, until Jianyong rashly got his foot in the way of Keťko's shin as he tried to clear. Keťko was left whimpering, and had to be substituted, further damaging his frail hopes. His side did at least take some measure of recompense, with Dutch forward René Mul getting the seventh goal indirectly from the free-kick.
Firdaus then salvaged a little pride by beating two men on his own, though
Fan Chuancheng also contributed his fair share with his well thought-out pass on the ground. The home side however did make it to ten, through a Mironenko hat-trick and one more by Petrovčík as the clock wound down.
