Islanders Sunk
Ola Ola Ola Ola
Grilled had promised to go for a big win to mollify their supporters after three losses, and the Pulau Ubin Islanders were the unlucky victims as
Ola Martinsson broke his duck with four good goals. The Islanders may not have had any business even hoping to win this one, but when the man in black granted two penalties against them within seven minutes, they must have known their time had come.
Ola Martinsson pushed the first one down the middle, and curled the second to the right as Nhut-Linh made a valiant attempt to save. Islanders protested vigourously at the first one when the ball came off Xing in a goalmouth melee, but when Ling-Fong brought down Ju-Hau in the middle of the penalty area three minutes later there was no contesting the charge.
Islanders' Kiranmayi got cautioned for tugging at Tuan-Mu. Soon after, Hjortlind caught up with Martinsson by crossing the ball into goal in the 29th, then scrambling a fifty-fifty ball into the net in the 37th. Had he kept his nerve he would have had a hat-trick by then as Noor Yadah supplied him with a must-score ball in the 31st minute, but he rushed the finisher and blasted way over the stranded Nhut-Linh.
The second half progressed in the same manner as Grilled played around with the ball, allowing Martinsson to strike home two more, the first from intercepting a poor pass in defence and the second from a visionary through ball by Ju-Hau. Ju-Hau then pitched in with a scrappy goal of his own, before
Aznan Noor Yadah gave away a silly yellow card for dissent after a relatively soft tackle. Team captain
Luis Alcántara was the last to score, showing technique in bending a shot into the roof of the net.
