Grilled 6 - 0 tpyers

Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 60456 at The Cooking Pot today. Onur Raşit Sunar was the appointed referee with assistance provided by 李 (Li) 维力 (Weili) and Piero Schulter. Grilled's starters: Germanakos - Keng Chuan, 其材 (Qicai) - Reddy, Teck Fu, Kwang Tse, An Keng, Parada - Ming Xin, Thoroddsen, Tokarz.

tpyers fielded: Yi Ping - Ito, Ishikawa, Éloy, Dao, Rong Chin - Subramanian, Han How, Boon Yeow - Ho Shi, Kong Sze.

Grilled Birds fielded a 2-5-3 lineup. For tpyers, the formation of choice was 5-3-2. tpyers were relying on their world class (13) ability to counter-attack. 12 minutes into the game, Ng Han How almost gave the visitors the lead, as he clipped a delicate lob over the keeper, but the ball glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. Despite hurting his right foot at the 17 minute mark, Aw Keng Chuan decided to keep playing. The home side put themselves ahead 1 - 0 after 29 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from 夏 (Ha) 其材 (Qicai), who scored with a stunning volley following a cross from the right wing. The visitors almost came back with an equaliser 30 minutes into the match after a good combination through the middle, but when Cheah Rong Chin tried to finish the attack, he couldn't get enough power on the shot to seriously challenge the keeper. Aw Keng Chuan could have put Grilled up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 32 minutes. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. Federico Parada squirmed through their central defence after 33 minutes, increasing the lead to 2 - 0. After 34 minutes, Gústav Thoroddsen put Grilled ahead 3 - 0 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing. 35 minutes into the match Grilled's Federico Parada viciously shoved another player from behind while going for a loose ball and was sent off the pitch with a red card. As Federico Parada left the field, the coach signaled to Aw Keng Chuan to be the new set pieces taker. Ben Ishikawa was unable to continue, following a slight injury to his left knee after 35 minutes. This gave Low Heng Rong a chance to take to the field instead. 37 minutes into the game, tpyers seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a solid (7) level of organisation. Grilled's Orest Tokarz swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Brian 'Was Born' Reddy got himself booked. The manager of Grilled was not happy. It was 3 - 0 at the break. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 64 percent of possession.

The coach gave his players an extra tactical briefing during the break, and after that tpyers had solid (7) organisation. Cheers filled the stadium as Phua Ming Xin broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 4 - 0 to Grilled. After 70 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and Orest Tokarz gave the Grilled supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 5 - 0. 75 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution. Damian Hutter came on for Aw Keng Chuan. Aw Keng Chuan was coming off, and had placed his last free kick for the day. That meant that Phua Ming Xin got the chance to showcase his dead ball skills. tpyers's counterattacks created a good chance for Kwok Ho Shi on the right after 82 minutes, but he could only look on with dismay as his strike rebounded off the crossbar. After 84 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as tpyers found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to passable (6). Grilled were given a gift! The ref dubiously awarded them a penalty 86 minutes into the match, which was neatly put away by Phua Ming Xin. 6 - 0 for the home side. tpyers's Low Heng Rong took a knock to the head after 87 minutes, due to a badly executed header. He looked wobbly for a second, but eventually just laughed it off and continued playing. As the 89 minute mark approached, the Grilled coach decided it was time for a substitution. Phua Ming Xin reluctantly made way for Chan Ze Han on the pitch. As Phua Ming Xin exited the field, Chan Ze Han volunteered to be the new set pieces taker. It was announced by the referee that he estimated stoppage time to be around 4 minutes. This meant there could still be an extra attack or two left in the match! The match ends 6 - 0. Grilled had most of the ball, with 64 percent of possession.

Grilled's best player was Gústav Thoroddsen. Damian Hutter turned in a dismal performance, however. The most dominating tpyers player was without a doubt Kwok Ho Shi. However, Paul Dao made a disastrous appearance.
