Grilled 5 - 1 Mayuyu

55838 spectators arrived at The Cooking Pot, where weather conditions were pretty good for football. Tore 'Torpeden' Colgren was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Milton Paludo and Artun Khurshudyan. Grilled's starters: Law - Hutter, 其材 (Qicai) - Trindade, An Keng, Keng Chuan, Khairul, Parada - Chitre, Thoroddsen, Teck Fu.

Mayuyu's lineup was: Arkın - Burboa, Ekborn, Kefalín, Stepp - Duhamel, Prusina, Ahola, Aschaber - Olivieri, Inczédi.

The teams had chosen different formations for the match. Home team Grilled Birds went for 2-5-3 while Mayuyu AKB48 has decided to play a 4-4-2 lineup. Grilled seemed to prefer attacking in the middle, taking advantage of their divine (+4) (24) level with that tactic. It was an obvious ambition of Mayuyu to use their divine (+2) (22) ability at attacking on the flanks. Joonas Ahola came close to putting the visiting team one up 15 minutes into the match, following a solo raid down the middle, but Cameron Law managed to tip the ball to a corner. Grilled had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks. Grilled took the lead 22 minutes into the game by 1 - 0, as Hwang Teck Fu elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar. Grilled were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally. Gandhik Chitre could have increased the lead after 28 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. Players in Mayuyu heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their central attacks to the wings instead. Hunor Inczédi was in the clear after breaking the offside trap following a Mayuyu counterattack from the left after 29 minutes. His neat finish made the score 1 - 1. Gústav Thoroddsen dispatched a majestic long shot 32 minutes into the match, but missed the goal by a few metres. At 35 minutes played, Lim An Keng came in from the right with the intention of giving Grilled the lead, but his rocket of a shot rattled the crossbar. The referee showed Grilled's Aw Keng Chuan the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Halftime score was 1 - 1. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 71 percent of the ball.

The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to 夏 (Ha) 其材 (Qicai), but the Grilled player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 2 - 1! With 64 minutes played, Grilled put themselves up 3 - 1 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to Lim An Keng, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. After 65 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by Gústav Thoroddsen might have resulted in another goal for Grilled. However, Hızır Arkın made a spectacular save. Mayuyu mounted an inspired counterattack down the right wing after 66 minutes, but Antonio Olivieri was unable to convert from short range. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. Lim An Keng squirmed through their central defence after 67 minutes, increasing the lead to 4 - 1. Mayuyu's Anders Ekborn was shown a yellow card after 71 minutes for slicing down an opponent. 72 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as Gústav Thoroddsen broke through, making the score 5 - 1 for Grilled. As the 89 minute mark approached, the Grilled coach decided it was time for a substitution. Hwang Teck Fu reluctantly made way for Phua Ming Xin on the pitch. After 89 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving Damian Hutter off the field. Chia Kwang Tse took his place. The referee decided to let play continue for an additional 2 minutes beyond the regular 90 minutes. The match ends 5 - 1. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 72 percent of the time.

The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt Gústav Thoroddsen. Cameron Law turned in a dismal performance, however. Mayuyu's best player was Joonas Ahola. However, Jurica Prusina made a disastrous appearance.
