The Blue Feather FC entered the field in a 5-4-1 formation. The visitors, Grilled Birds, chose to start the game with a 2-5-3 lineup. For their match strategy, Feather had decided to use their magnificent (12) ability to counter-attack whenever possible. The guests almost went up by a goal after 8 minutes when
Gandhik Chitre came through and shot from the right. The ball bounced harmlessly off the post, though. After 9 minutes, the defensive line of Feather created a counterattack through the middle that gave
Roshan Singh a good look at the goal, but his shot glanced harmlessly off the crossbar.
Chia Kwang Tse came close to putting the visiting team one up 24 minutes into the match, following a solo raid down the middle, but
Bikash Ghalan managed to tip the ball to a corner. Grilled took the lead after
Radovan Jaška curved a free kick into the net. 0 - 1 40 minutes into the game, Grilled worked the left side industriously creating several opportunities to add to their lead, but just couldn't apply the finishing touch.
Gandhik Chitre came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over
Bikash Ghalan but overcooked it and hit the bar instead. 0 - 1 was the score after the first half. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 70 percent of the ball.
Some fine movement on the left led to a Grilled goal after 51 minutes, making it 0 - 2.
Gandhik Chitre was noted down as the scorer.
Gandhik Chitre increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 0 - 3. 70 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Feather substitution.
Francés Xavier Blanchard came on for
Gabriel Fitulak. 72 minutes into the match,
Gandhik Chitre came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide. 73 minutes into the game Feather managed a counterattack, but
Tej Aryal took a soft shot from the left flank that was easy prey for the alert keeper. As the 75 minute mark approached, the Feather coach decided it was time for a substitution.
Boris Jakaša reluctantly made way for
Vladimiro Rechichi on the pitch. After 75 minutes, the Feather coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving
Bibek Karki off the field.
Sunil Paddle took his place. The Feather captaincy was handed to
Nawayug Tamang.
Radovan Jaška could have added one to the visitors' lead if his free kick had gone just a little lower. Feather were great at switching from defence to attack, and after 79 minutes,
Roshan Singh swept through the middle on a counterattack, making the score 1 - 3. After 81 minutes of game time,
Egemen Dinçer Ferzan had an excellent opportunity to add to the visitors' lead, clipping a volley hooked in from the right, but
Bikash Ghalan was in the right place and tipped the ball over for a corner. 85 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Paulino Trindade gave
Chan Ze Han a quick hug as he left the field.
Aw Keng Chuan would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise.
Teo Chuan Yong entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 89 minutes. The referee announced 1 minute of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over. The match ends 1 - 3. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 70 percent of the time.
Vladimiro Rechichi performed admirably for Feather.
Bikash Ghalan on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt
Chan Ze Han.
Radovan Jaška was a disappointment, however.
