Grilled Birds entered the field in a 2-5-3 formation. The visitors, FK De Sorte Egern, chose to start the game with a 3-5-2 lineup. Grilled decided to play creatively at a world class (13) level. Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of Sorte, taking advantage of their brilliant (11) level with that tactic. With 13 minutes played
Aw Keng Chuan almost put the home team one ahead on a cross coming in from the right, but the shot went just wide. Sorte showed their counterattack skill 14 minutes into the match by breaking through the middle, with
Mihai Iordăchioaia scoring uncontested for 0 - 1.
Radovan Jaška really should have scored when he was chosen by fate to confront a wide open goal following a great play by
Gandhik Chitre after a corner. The referee showed Sorte's
Vittorio Cuccuru the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Grilled's
Chan Ze Han made an attempt at equalising 28 minutes into the match, coming in from the right, but the ball hit the post and the defence easily cleared the rebound. No matter how hard he tried,
Chia Kwang Tse just couldn't get his shot past the visitors' right side defence after 32 minutes.
Mihai Iordăchioaia was first to reach a ball launched long through the center from Sorte's defence 33 minutes into the game. He managed to keep his cool and beat the goalkeeper to make the score 0 - 2. 35 minutes in, Sorte's
Bernardinas Knečūnas received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first.
Paulino Trindade twisted his arm after 35 minutes, but the Grilled player had no trouble continuing the game. Halftime score was 0 - 2. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 77 percent of possession.
Paulino Trindade challenged the visitors' central defence eagerly, producing a good chance 48 minutes into the game as he went for a through ball. But, as so many times before, the guests' defensive efforts got the best of it. The home crowd was given a certain amount of consolation when
Egemen Dinçer Ferzan scored after a brilliant midfield combination through the centre, reducing the lead to 1 - 2.
Gianni Ferranti hit the corner kick straight to the keeper, but it was mishandled, giving Sorte's
Mihai Iordăchioaia an easy chance to knock it in for 1 - 3. That made three goals for
Mihai Iordăchioaia and he was marked down for the hat trick. The crowd groaned when
Chan Ze Han, having maneuvered his way down the right, fired the ball just wide and missed a great opportunity to reduce the deficit for Grilled. Grilled had a brilliant opportunity to reply as
Aw Keng Chuan received a high ball from the right, striking the ball in the air. Only
Urbano Golán's reflexes saved him. The goal to make it 1 - 4 was scored by
Mihai Iordăchioaia after 85 minutes, following an opportunistic counterattack down the middle by Sorte. After 86 minutes, Grilled sent a free kick in high over the penalty box. In what looked like a well-rehearsed move, the ball was headed backwards and reached
Chad Thach, who had plenty of space to place a well aimed shot - 2 - 4. Grilled's
Egemen Dinçer Ferzan found himself alone on the left side 86 minutes into the match and laid down a perfect shot - right into the arms of the keeper! 89 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution.
Moey Xin Seng came on for
Chan Ze Han.
Chan Ze Han was coming off, and had placed his last free kick for the day. That meant that
Radovan Jaška got the chance to showcase his dead ball skills. As the captain was no longer on the pitch,
Moey Xin Seng took over the role of being the Grilled captain. The referee decided to let play continue for an additional 3 minutes beyond the regular 90 minutes. The match ends 2 - 4. Grilled had most of the ball, with 78 percent of possession.
Most important Grilled player was
Aw Keng Chuan.
Radovan Jaška on the other hand, had a terrible day.
Mihai Iordăchioaia performed admirably for Sorte. On the other hand,
Nino Luppi's play was disheartening.
