Grilled 5 - 3 ZZU

Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 5545 to The Cooking Pot. Zoltán Mizó was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Octávio Barbosa and Donato Friaglia. Grilled's lineup was: Law - Jaška, El Khateeb - Ferzan, Kwang Tse, Keng Chuan, Teck Fu, Trindade - Chitre, Ze Han, Balde.

ZZU's starters: Hughes - Jalloul, Agiu, Sprickelortsschneise, Homsi - Al Khalil, Arendal, Afonso Fernandes, Alawieh, Rehberg - Hojac.

Grilled Birds started the game in a 2-5-3 formation, whereas FK ZZU Sektion Libanon lined up in a 4-5-1 formation. ZZU were mostly trying to use their extra-terrestrial (16) skill at attacking on the flanks. With 3 minutes gone, Grilled had a free kick in a decent position. Despite this being a great chance for a shot, they tried a cheeky move intended to bypass the defence. However, Paulino Trindade did not manage to connect with it cleanly and the ball went out. The guests took the lead 11 minutes into the match, after a right-side attack resulted in Josué Afonso Fernandes scoring to make it 0 - 1. After 12 minutes, Paulino Trindade made a dash down the middle past the away team's defenders to score the goal that made it 1 - 1. Grilled took the lead 18 minutes into the game by 2 - 1, as Chan Ze Han elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar. After 22 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and Radovan Jaška gave the Grilled supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 3 - 1. Chan Ze Han unleashed a swerving effort from the right that the visitors' keeper did well to tip wide. The teams went for the halftime break at 3 - 1. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 59 percent.

ZZU's Zahi Al Khalil was dominating his wing and kept sending fine balls into the opposition's box - Stanislaw Hojac managed to volley one of them into the net to make it 3 - 2 after 47 minutes. ZZU were determined to attack on the wing and their central attempts were constantly abandoned in favour of the wings. 55 minutes into the match the visitors levelled the score at 3 - 3 as Stanislaw Hojac struck home from a rebound off the crossbar, following a shot from the right. Willfried Sprickelortsschneise was in no condition to play on. He left the field limping after 63 minutes, with his left thigh bandaged. Leon Gourdin had already been warming up, and came on for Willfried Sprickelortsschneise. As Willfried Sprickelortsschneise left the field, the coach signaled to Roy Arendal to be the new set pieces taker. With 64 minutes played, the home side managed to get a 4 - 3 lead as Aw Keng Chuan flipped the ball in after a cross from the right. After 66 minutes, Gandhik Chitre put Grilled ahead 5 - 3 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing. Akbar Homsi of ZZU was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. 80 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game. Chan Ze Han gave Kalki Parvathaneni a quick hug as he left the field. As Chan Ze Han exited the field, Kalki Parvathaneni volunteered to be the new set pieces taker. Kalki Parvathaneni became the new Grilled captain. The Grilled players could smell victory in the air. Mohsen El Khateeb wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for Gilbert Webb after 89 minutes. The coach of Grilled was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 89 minutes, Bhavya Panigrahi came on for Radovan Jaška. The players were tired, but when the referee announced that there would be 4 minutes of added time they, nonetheless, welcomed the extra opportunity to make an impact. After 90 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by Hwang Teck Fu might have resulted in another goal for Grilled. However, Danny Hughes made a spectacular save. ZZU's Roy Arendal got himself booked for a foul. Following a nasty collision in the 92, Grilled's Kalki Parvathaneni complained of a damaged shoulder. He was advised against continuing the game. Due to this disastrous turn of events, the team now had to finish the match with a reduced lineup. With Kalki Parvathaneni no longer on the pitch, Bhavya Panigrahi took over free kick duty. As the captain was no longer on the pitch, Gilbert Webb took over the role of being the Grilled captain. The match ends 5 - 3. Grilled had most of the ball, with 61 percent of possession.

Grilled's best player was Aw Keng Chuan. However, Gilbert Webb made a disastrous appearance. ZZU's top performer was clearly Josué Afonso Fernandes. Leon Gourdin on the other hand, had a terrible day.
