Grilled 7 - 1 tpyers

A scorching day at The Cooking Pot, where 57703 spectators were in place for today's match. Finn Essen was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Sunardi Malaiholo and Asen Markov. It was a sunny day and the Technical players could roll the ball around with ease. Those that had to chase after the ball found the weather less appealing, it especially stymied the game of Powerful and Quick players. The following players took the field for Grilled: Germanakos - Mangoye, Hutter - Baena, Thach, Keng Chuan, Teck Fu, Trindade - Chitre, Ming Xin, Balde.

tpyers fielded: Ramenghini - Ito, Ishikawa, Sajtos - Jia Aik, Han How, Dizon, Boon Yeow, Svold - Jing De, Heng.

The teams had chosen different formations for the match. Home team Grilled Birds went for 2-5-3 while tpyers has decided to play a 3-5-2 lineup. tpyers demonstrated their outstanding (10) creative tactics on the field. After 3 minutes, Grilled's Enrique Baena surprised everyone as he managed to intercept a pass intended for the opposing keeper and flip it in, making the score 1 - 0. Phua Ming Xin should probably have put his team up another goal after 6 minutes after breaking through the middle, but some great goalkeeping by Antonio Ramenghini kept the visitors in the game. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Grilled's Aw Keng Chuan increasing the lead to 2 - 0. After 33 minutes, Aw Keng Chuan put Grilled ahead 3 - 0 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing. After 34 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and Aw Keng Chuan gave the Grilled supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 4 - 0. By then Aw Keng Chuan had scored three goals - a hat trick! Derek Dizon could've grabbed a goal for tpyers 38 minutes in when he got a pass from the left putting him free of the home side's defence, but he was unable to take advantage of the situation. 4 - 0 was the score after the first half. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 58 percent of possession.

After 46 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving Atang Mangoye off the field. Mohsen El Khateeb took his place. As Atang Mangoye exited the field, Aw Keng Chuan volunteered to be the new set pieces taker. As the captain was no longer on the pitch, Hwang Teck Fu took over the role of being the Grilled captain. A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Grilled to 5 - 0 as Phua Ming Xin finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle. Grilled's Chad Thach swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Jeppe Svold got himself booked. The manager of tpyers was not happy. Grilled managed to extend their lead to 6 - 0 when Gandhik Chitre cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. The home team's fans were upset when, after 77 minutes, the visiting Foster Ito broke through the central defence and kicked the ball past the keeper. 6 - 1 was the score. Yeoh Jing De nearly reduced the lead 84 minutes into the game, but a splendid one-handed save by Dimitris Germanakos prevented the attempt coming in from the right flank from hitting the back of the net. Ibnou Balde would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. Bilal Mohammad Harun entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 89 minutes. 89 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution. Kalki Parvathaneni came on for Gandhik Chitre. It was announced by the referee that he estimated stoppage time to be around 3 minutes. This meant there could still be an extra attack or two left in the match! Grilled put themselves up 7 - 1 when Enrique Baena broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. The match ends 7 - 1. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 60 percent.

Aw Keng Chuan performed admirably for Grilled. On the other hand, Mohsen El Khateeb's play was disheartening. tpyers's top performer was clearly Ng Han How. Zsolt Sajtos was a disappointment, however.
