Sin_Mahi 0 - 5 Grilled
Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 36942 to
Mahi Throne.
Folke Rehlingen was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Rémi Chevaleyre and
Emil Kopczak. The following players had been chosen by Sin_Mahi:
Kothapalli -
Chu,
Nazir,
Leong Jin -
Lee Siong,
Peddireddy,
Wernli,
Chao Chee -
Wienconek,
Idlan,
Šedivec.
Grilled's lineup was:
Vadalà -
Mangoye,
Hutter -
Baena,
Chitre,
Keng Chuan,
Teck Fu,
Trindade -
Balde,
Ze Han,
Parada.
It was to be a contest between two different football philosophies, since the home team started the game with a 3-4-3 formation while the visitors instead opted for 2-5-3. Sin_Mahi used their outstanding (10) ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings. With 11 minutes played, the visitors broke through on the right after some poor defending.
Chan Ze Han put the ball away for 0 - 1.
Gandhik Chitre received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 20 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 2. The Grilled fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. After 21 minutes,
Atang Mangoye was massaging his left knee with a worried look on his face, but managed to get up in the end. After 23 minutes, Grilled's
Enrique Baena burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 3. The look on
Mirosław Wienconek in minute 32 said it all: Not again. With his right thigh tightly bandaged, he had to leave the match for the day. This gave
Lu An Seng a chance to take to the field instead. After 33 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for
Chan Ze Han who increased Grilled's lead to 0 - 4. After 34 minutes of game time,
Aw Keng Chuan had an excellent opportunity to add to the visitors' lead, clipping a volley hooked in from the right, but
Vinay Kothapalli was in the right place and tipped the ball over for a corner. 0 - 4 was the halftime score. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 76 percent of the time.
As the 46 minute mark approached, the Grilled coach decided it was time for a substitution.
Chan Ze Han reluctantly made way for
Mohsen El Khateeb on the pitch. With
Chan Ze Han no longer on the pitch,
Atang Mangoye took over free kick duty.
Manuel Vadalà was the new captain of Grilled - handed the armband by the departing player. Grilled came close to extending their lead as
Aw Keng Chuan delivered a low effort on goal from the right after 51 minutes, but the angle was too narrow and the shot went harmlessly into the side netting. 52 minutes into the match,
Hwang Teck Fu came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide. With 53 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed
Hwang Teck Fu of Grilled to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 5. With the scoreboard showing that 54 minutes had been played, Grilled nearly put themselves up another goal after
Enrique Baena came through on the left. Fortunately for the home crowd, the keeper made the save.
Atang Mangoye would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise.
Bhavya Panigrahi entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 85 minutes.
Atang Mangoye was coming off, and had placed his last free kick for the day. That meant that
Bhavya Panigrahi got the chance to showcase his dead ball skills. The referee announced 3 minutes of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over. The match ends 0 - 5. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 79 percent of possession.
Sin_Mahi's top performer was clearly
Vít Šedivec. However,
Mohd Hamzah Nazir made a disastrous appearance. The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt
Aw Keng Chuan. On the other hand,
Manuel Vadalà's play was disheartening.
