Controlar 3 - 1 Grilled
56438 spectators arrived at
Sweet Science Arena, where weather conditions were pretty good for football.
Rustambek Fayzullayev was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Peter Carlstedt and
Héctor Miguel Díaz. The following players took the field for Controlar:
Conceição Correia -
Ferdos,
魏利 (Weili),
Calleja -
Nisstrand,
Yi Chuan,
江連 (Ezure),
Keng Kwang,
Faladoiro -
Ramos,
Biskopstø.
Grilled's lineup was:
Germanakos -
Keng Chuan,
Hutter -
Ferzan,
Kwang Tse,
Khairul,
An Keng,
Trindade -
Reece,
Tokarz,
Ze Han.
Controlar entered the field in a 3-5-2 formation. The visitors, Grilled Birds, chose to start the game with a 2-5-3 lineup. Grilled clearly preferred using their extra-terrestrial (16) ability to attack in the middle. The referee showed Controlar's
Paulino Faladoiro the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. It was obvious that team Grilled had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings. The visiting
Joe Reece was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 27 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 0 - 1 was the score. Grilled had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks.
Joe Reece was, after 29 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper
Pedro Vasco Conceição Correia made the save. After 30 minutes of game time,
Chia Kwang Tse had an excellent opportunity to add to the visitors' lead, clipping a volley hooked in from the right, but
Pedro Vasco Conceição Correia was in the right place and tipped the ball over for a corner. After 35 minutes of play,
Hans Hendrik Biskopstø equalised for Controlar after an elegant attack from the right. It was 1 - 1 at the break. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 60 percent of the ball.
46 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Lim An Keng gave
Hwang Teck Fu a quick hug as he left the field.
Tong Yi Chuan caused the crowd to go mental with his goal up the middle after 47 minutes. This gave Controlar the 2 - 1 lead. With 51 minutes played,
Joe Reece came in from the right and could have evened the score, but the defenders successfully repelled the attack by Grilled. A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Controlar to 3 - 1 as
歐 (Au) 魏利 (Weili) finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle. After 80 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving
Orest Tokarz off the field.
Kalki Parvathaneni took his place. As the 85 minute mark approached, the Grilled coach decided it was time for a substitution.
Aw Keng Chuan reluctantly made way for
Bhavya Panigrahi on the pitch. A scuffle developed as players from both sides clashed following a tussle in the centre of the field 86 minutes into the match. After regaining order and consulting his linesman, the referee called Controlar's
Tong Yi Chuan to one side and produced a red card for the player. The referee decided to let play continue for an additional 2 minutes beyond the regular 90 minutes. The visitors got a chance to pull one back after 89 minutes, as the home defence went to sleep, leaving
Joe Reece completely unmarked in the middle. His strike was pathetic though, and dribbled into the arms of the home side's keeper. Controlar's
Hans Hendrik Biskopstø got himself booked for a foul. The match ends 3 - 1. Grilled had most of the ball, with 60 percent of possession.
Controlar's best player was
Marko Nisstrand. However,
Pau Calleja made a disastrous appearance. Grilled's top performer was clearly
Chan Ze Han.
Bhavya Panigrahi was a disappointment, however.
