Colorado Timberwolves started the game in a 5-3-2 formation, whereas Grilled Birds lined up in a 2-5-3 formation. Timberwolves clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could, taking advantage of their world class (13) level with that tactic. Grilled's
Bilal Mohammad Harun gave the visitors a 0 - 1 lead after 14 minutes with a superb strike from the right. 19 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 2 as
Gandhik Chitre finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. Grilled came close to extending their lead as
Teo Chuan Yong delivered a low effort on goal from the right after 27 minutes, but the angle was too narrow and the shot went harmlessly into the side netting. It was 0 - 2 at the break. Grilled had most of the ball, with 74 percent of possession.
46 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Chia Kwang Tse gave
Mohd Marzuki Khairul a quick hug as he left the field.
Ted de Jongh was in the clear after breaking the offside trap following a Timberwolves counterattack from the left after 58 minutes. His neat finish made the score 1 - 2.
Gilbert Webb would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise.
Mohsen El Khateeb entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 60 minutes. After 60 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving
Teo Chuan Yong off the field.
Kalki Parvathaneni took his place.
Teo Chuan Yong was coming off, and had placed his last free kick for the day. That meant that
Bilal Mohammad Harun got the chance to showcase his dead ball skills.
Egemen Diner Ferzan went down after twisting his left ankle in minute 60, but was able to continue the match none the less. Had it not been for one of the home defenders,
Kalki Parvathaneni would have put Grilled up another goal 70 minutes into the match with his audacious lob from the right wing. A foul called during a Timberwolves counterattack resulted in a great chance to score, but
Romano Rebov's shot rattled off the post. Grilled's
Bilal Mohammad Harun made it through the home team's defence on the right hand side 78 minutes into the match. After rounding the keeper, he only had to place the ball in the unguarded goal when a defender slid in and cleared the ball off the line. The referee signalled a penalty 83 minutes into the game following an offence which looked like it was outside the box.
Bilal Mohammad Harun knocked it home to make the score 1 - 3. It was announced by the referee that he estimated stoppage time to be around 1 minute. This meant there could still be an extra attack or two left in the match! Timberwolves played a good counterattacking move down the left 90 minutes into the match, with
Andrs Darnyi finishing well for 2 - 3. The match ends 2 - 3. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 76 percent of the time.
Most important Timberwolves player was
Leo Minaya.
Ted de Jongh on the other hand, had a terrible day. Grilled's best player was
Mohd Marzuki Khairul.
Manuel Vadal was a disappointment, however.
