It had rained all day, but 2265 hardy fans still made it out to The Cooking Pot. Garifallos Potamiotis was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Severino Caldirola and Charles Fortin. While a boggy pitch like this was an advantage for physical players, it really didn't help those who relied on speed or technique. Grilled Birds started the game in a 2-5-3 formation, whereas Croft Town lined up in a 3-5-2 formation. Grilled showed off their brilliant (11) creative tactics. It was obvious that Croft were using their inadequate (5) pressing skill as their primary tactic. A foul after 29 minutes resulted in a free kick. Teo Chuan Yong cannonballed it, giving the home team the lead 1 - 0. Grilled's Teo Chuan Yong struck his penalty well enough to beat the goalkeeper and extend the home team's lead to 2 - 0 after 35 minutes. A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Grilled to 3 - 0 as Prokop Mottl finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle. The home side's Gilbert Webb came close to extending the lead 41 minutes into the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but Steve Harper managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop. The teams went for the halftime break at 3 - 0. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 59 percent.

Encouraged by their lead, after 46 minutes the Grilled coach asked Hwang Teck Fu to change positions with Mohd Marzuki Khairul. 46 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution. José Luiz Velho came on for Teo Chuan Yong. As Teo Chuan Yong exited the field, Gilbert Webb volunteered to be the new set pieces taker. Grilled put in a good effort on the right, but Paulino Trindade saw his volley fly wide of the mark 51 minutes into the game. Always a threat, Robin Carvell tore past his marker and placed the ball right at the feet of the waiting Scott David who should have easily scored for Croft, but the ball went wide. Croft were desperate to get a goal back and pushed forward through the middle 69 minutes into the game. After a scramble in the box, the ball dropped to John Norman, who smashed it home to make the score 3 - 1. Atang Mangoye would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. Radovan Jaška entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 70 minutes. After 70 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving Gilbert Webb off the field. Mohsen El Khateeb took his place. Gilbert Webb was coming off, and had placed his last free kick for the day. That meant that Radovan Jaška got the chance to showcase his dead ball skills. Grilled put themselves up 4 - 1 when Hwang Teck Fu broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. 80 minutes into the game, Grilled's Prokop Mottl rolled over in pain after taking a forceful blow to his upper chest. After bandaging his collarbone, the medics led him off the field. The coach had his head in his hands, as he realised he could not send a replacement onto the pitch. The team had to continue a man short. Croft managed to reduce the score to 4 - 2 as Scott David finished off a well-played combination from the left, easily carving through the defence. With 86 minutes played, Grilled's Radovan Jaška almost extended the lead, but his shot from the left glanced off the top of the bar to fall behind the net. Grilled's Mohd Marzuki Khairul took a knock to the head after 87 minutes, due to a badly executed header. He took a few uneasy steps, but got dizzy and then taken off the field. Grilled had no available replacements, leaving the team a man short. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Grilled's José Luiz Velho increasing the lead to 5 - 2. The referee announced 3 minutes of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over. The match ends 5 - 2. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 59 percent of possession.

Grilled's top performer was clearly Chia Kwang Tse. Mohsen El Khateeb on the other hand, had a terrible day. Most important Croft player was Gigio Vergine. However, Steve Harper made a disastrous appearance.
