Saurused 0 - 3 Grilled

The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 5171 had shown up at KureNiidu for the match. Richard Land was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Badara Sadio and Naum Obednikovski. Saurused's starters: Danilson - Paju, Vasik - Mahlapuu, Põld, Sipelgas, Nõmme, Paju - Veske, Vaide, Kottise.

The following players had been chosen by Grilled: Vadalà - Mangoye, Jaška - Teck Fu, Kwang Tse, Chitre, Khairul, Trindade - Ferzan, Thach, Mottl.

The teams both lined up their players in 2-5-3 formations. This was a good period for the visitors, with several opportunities to take the lead, particularly when Hwang Teck Fu slipped through the defence on the right to come up alone against Marko Danilson, but the home side's keeper showed his lightning reflexes. After 21 minutes, Grilled put themselves up 0 - 1, as Mohd Marzuki Khairul finished off a strike from the left with a real cannonball of a shot. Just a few inches to the right, and the visitors could have had a goal 23 minutes into the match. Radovan Jaška surely wishes he could do that free kick over again. Hendrik Kottise's fine footwork caused nothing but headaches for Chia Kwang Tse. The keeper wasn't fooled however, and confidently scooped up the ball. Gandhik Chitre could have put his team up another goal 37 minutes into the game, after a rush down the left, but his closing shot hit the post. Chia Kwang Tse of Grilled was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. It was 0 - 1 at the break. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 68 percent of possession.

46 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution. Lim An Keng came on for Chia Kwang Tse. Encouraged by their lead, after 46 minutes the Grilled coach asked Lim An Keng to change positions with Hwang Teck Fu. Some fine movement on the left led to a Grilled goal after 47 minutes, making it 0 - 2. Hwang Teck Fu was noted down as the scorer. After the ball was lifted in from the left, Hwang Teck Fu was on his own in the home side's penalty area and should have scored after 48 minutes, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration. With 54 minutes played, Grilled put themselves up 0 - 3 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was Hwang Teck Fu. 65 minutes into the game, Grilled worked the left side industriously creating several opportunities to add to their lead, but just couldn't apply the finishing touch. After 70 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving Prokop Mottl off the field. José Luiz Velho took his place. 77 minutes into the match, Grilled could have gone up another goal, but Radovan Jaška's penalty kick missed the goal by a mile. Atang Mangoye would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. Chirag Thevar entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 80 minutes. The referee decided to let play continue for an additional 1 minute beyond the regular 90 minutes. The match ends 0 - 3. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 68 percent.

Deivi Vasik performed admirably for Saurused. However, Ülo Põld made a disastrous appearance. Most important Grilled player was Mohd Marzuki Khairul. Chirag Thevar was a disappointment, however.
