Grilled Birds entered the field in a 2-5-3 formation. The visitors, Lawrence, KS FC, chose to start the game with a 5-3-2 lineup. Grilled mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle, taking advantage of their titanic (15) level with that tactic. Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for Lawrence, on this day, taking advantage of their divine (20) level with that tactic. Lawrence, were able to mount several counterattacks, such as the impressive one after 3 minutes, but
Joaquin Leiva lofted a free kick over the crossbar. Central attacks were the recipe of the day for Grilled, as they moved the ball from the wings to the middle with startling regularity. Grilled's
Enrique Baena had a good first touch on the flank, but was crowded and, after a change of plan, sent the ball to
Chan Ze Han who somehow managed to curl the ball wide. Halftime score was 0 - 0. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 84 percent.
46 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution.
Chia Kwang Tse came on for
Lim An Keng. 46 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Bilal Mohammad Harun gave
Kalki Parvathaneni a quick hug as he left the field. The goal to make it 0 - 1 was scored by
Siew Siong Feng after 65 minutes, following an opportunistic counterattack down the middle by Lawrence,. The crowd chanted their encouragement as Grilled's
Enrique Baena came in from the right after 67 minutes and put the ball in the net to level the score at 1 - 1. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
Chia Kwang Tse got himself booked. The manager of Grilled was not happy. As the 80 minute mark approached, the Grilled coach decided it was time for a substitution.
Bhavya Panigrahi reluctantly made way for
Gilbert Webb on the pitch. With
Bhavya Panigrahi no longer on the pitch,
Chan Ze Han took over free kick duty. The match ends 1 - 1. Grilled had most of the ball, with 83 percent of possession.
The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt
Chan Ze Han.
Damian Hutter turned in a dismal performance, however. Lawrence,'s best player was
Joaquin Leiva.
Lin Min Puay on the other hand, had a terrible day.
