Clear skies welcomed the 3153 spectators who had made their way to Sala Tronului. Matej Jaborka was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Max Vodermair and J�rn Blaschka. CF Negus entered the field in a 4-4-2 formation. The visitors, Grilled Birds, chose to start the game with a 2-5-3 lineup. Negus seemed to prefer attacking in the middle, taking advantage of their excellent (8) level with that tactic. Grilled took the lead 7 minutes into the game, making the score 0 - 1 after some elegant movement down the middle. Enrique Baena was the scorer. Teo Chuan Yong of Grilled took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 17 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 0 - 2. 18 minutes in, Negus appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only inadequate (5). Mohd Marzuki Khairul increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 0 - 3. With 33 minutes played, Grilled's well-worked indirect free kick caused havoc in the penalty area, and when the ball eventually fell to Jos� Luiz Velho he gleefully slotted the ball home to make it 0 - 4. Grilled made it 0 - 5 as Damian Hutter got a touch to the floated corner kick and flicked the ball to Kalki Parvathaneni who whipped a low drive in off the far post. After 40 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for Chia Kwang Tse who increased Grilled's lead to 0 - 6. 0 - 6 was the halftime score. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 86 percent of possession.

A review of the gameplan helped Negus get back to a solid (7) organisation when the referee blew his whistle again. Chia Kwang Tse would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. Chad Thach entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 46 minutes. After 46 minutes, Grilled felt secure enough to make a tactical change. Hwang Teck Fu and Gandhik Chitre assumed each others positions on the field. After the ball was lifted in from the left, Teo Chuan Yong was on his own in the home side's penalty area and should have scored after 64 minutes, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration. After 67 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed Jos� Luiz Velho to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 0 - 7. Wesenu Dego got a fingertip on Chad Thach's shot from the left 76 minutes in, and managed to keep the visitors from going up another goal. Negus's defence sent a ball soaring up the middle on a beautiful counterattack with 77 minutes gone, but Mujib Habte's finish was met by the reaching hands of the keeper. After 80 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving Jos� Luiz Velho off the field. Prokop Mottl took his place. With 83 minutes played, Grilled put themselves up 0 - 8 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was Kalki Parvathaneni. The referee announced 2 minutes of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over. Prokop Mottl almost seemed to dance around Sisay Bekele, his movements were so smooth. Unfortunately for Grilled, his finish ended up on the wrong side of the post. With the scoreboard showing that 89 minutes had been played, Grilled nearly put themselves up another goal after Gandhik Chitre came through on the left. Fortunately for the home crowd, the keeper made the save. The match ends 0 - 8. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 87 percent of the ball.

Negus's best player was Wesenu Dego. Sisay Bekele was a disappointment, however. Grilled's top performer was clearly Mohd Marzuki Khairul. On the other hand, Manuel Vadal�'s play was disheartening.
