It was to be a contest between two different football philosophies, since the home team started the game with a 5-3-2 formation while the visitors instead opted for 2-5-3. Lawrence, clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could, taking advantage of their divine (+1) (21) level with that tactic. Grilled mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle, taking advantage of their titanic (15) level with that tactic. Central attacks were the recipe of the day for Grilled, as they moved the ball from the wings to the middle with startling regularity. After 25 minutes, a well-worked counterattack by Lawrence, on the right presented an easy opportunity in front of the goal that was duly converted by Foo Tse Ping to make it 1 - 0. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave Frode Haugen from Lawrence, a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 31 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! Lawrence,'s counterattacks were lethal to the opposing defence, allowing 健人 (Kento) 田中 (Tanaka) to score easily from the right flank for 2 - 0. Grilled were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally. Halftime score was 2 - 0. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 66 percent of possession.

46 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game. Chad Thach gave Chia Kwang Tse a quick hug as he left the field. After 70 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving Bilal Mohammad Harun off the field. Moey Xin Seng took his place. Grilled reduced the deficit to 2 - 1 with a penalty placed perfectly beside the left post by Bhavya Panigrahi. Grilled's Moey Xin Seng was shown a yellow card after 76 minutes for slicing down an opponent. When Moey Xin Seng made yet another studs-first tackle after 78 minutes, the referee was obliged to book the Grilled player for the second time, sending him off the pitch. After 79 minutes, Leocadio Angarita was massaging his left knee with a worried look on his face, but managed to get up in the end. Bhavya Panigrahi would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. Gilbert Webb entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 80 minutes. With Bhavya Panigrahi no longer on the pitch, Chan Ze Han took over free kick duty. Gino Revillard knocked one home from a counterattack down the right wing, making the score 3 - 1 after 81 minutes. 87 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Lawrence, substitution. Tommy Ali came on for Frode Haugen. It was announced by the referee that he estimated stoppage time to be around 3 minutes. This meant there could still be an extra attack or two left in the match! His teammates looked on in disbelief as an own goal by Enrique Baena changed the tally to 4 - 1 after 90 minutes. The match ends 4 - 1. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 64 percent of the time.

Most important Lawrence, player was Joaquin Leiva. Tommy Ali turned in a dismal performance, however. Chan Ze Han performed admirably for Grilled. Gilbert Webb was a disappointment, however.
