Heart of Midlothian trundled out to the pitch in a 5-2-1 formation. The visitors, Grilled Birds, chose to start the game with a 2-5-3 lineup. For their match strategy, Hearts had decided to use their supernatural (14) ability to counter-attack whenever possible. Grilled used their mythical (17) ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the field. Hearts's counter-attacks were lethal to the opposing defense, allowing
Sol Bowden to score easily from the right side for 1 - 0. Hearts caught their opponents out with a clever counter-attack down the right wing 39 minutes into the game.
Michael Caldwell was there to finish off the move - 2 - 0! 42 minutes into the game, Hearts seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a inadequate (5) level of organization. Hearts almost scored after a counter-attack 44 minutes into the match, but
Michael Caldwell took a shot from the left that landed harmlessly in the side netting. 44 minutes into the game, Hearts had difficulty finding their positions and their organization dropped to weak (4). It was 2 - 0 at the break. Grilled did a good job holding on to the ball, with 76 percent of possession. We'll be back after these interminable commercial messages.
The Hearts coach might have gone through a whole marker putting the playbook up on the board, but it seemed to have worked, with the team regaining a solid (7) organization for the second half. After 46 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the field, waving
Kalki Parvathaneni off.
Chia Kwang Tse took his place. With the clock showing 46 minutes, the fourth official held up the substitution board.
Bilal Mohammad Harun looked to see that it was his number in red, so he made his way over to the sideline and swapped out for
Chad Thach, though he would have liked to continue. 60 minutes into the match, the referee signaled for a Grilled substitution.
Teo Chuan Yong came on for
Moey Xin Seng. Hearts were able to mount several counter-attacks, such as the impressive one 68 minutes in, but
Armando Harris lofted a free kick over the crossbar. It was obvious that Grilled had instructions to attack in the middle when they directed a break on the wing into the center of the park. Grilled had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle instead. 85 minutes into the game, Hearts seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to inadequate (5). The match ends 2 - 0. Well, look at this! Cardi B is on the Enormotron in naught but giant sunglasses, red tassles, and a Lionsclub Pfusistan tank top. I've not seen anything like it before. Hearts's best player was
Michael Caldwell. I can't remember
Sol Bowden ever having a worse night than he just had. Grilled's top performer was clearly
Chan Ze Han. Speaking of stinking up the place,
Gilbert Webb sure smelled like the bottom of Batman's shoe after a night of crimefighting in Gotham.
