It was to be a contest between two different football philosophies, since the home team started the game with a 4-5-1 formation while the visitors instead opted for a 2-5-3. JUVENTUDE saw most attack opportunities on the wings by using their titanic (15) ability to push the attack in the right direction. Grilled went for a narrow approach, using their mythical (17) ability to focus their attacks down the middle.
Moey Xin Seng will have Excedrin Headache number 5 after heading home the hard corner kick from
Bhavya Panigrahi after 4 minutes of play. I'm sure that making the score 0 - 1 will assuage him a bit, though. Grilled players heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead. 8 minutes into the match,
Chan Ze Han came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide.
Aksel Normand kept the home side in the game with a magnificent save when
Bhavya Panigrahi delivered an almost perfect free kick to the far post. It was 0 - 1 at the break. Grilled set the tempo, maintaining 54 percent of possession.
After 46 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the field, waving
Kalki Parvathaneni off.
Chia Kwang Tse took his place. With the clock showing 46 minutes, the fourth official held up the substitution board.
Bilal Mohammad Harun looked to see that it was his number in red, so he made his way over to the sideline and swapped out for
Chad Thach, though he would have liked to continue. Due to some great work on the right wing JUVENTUDE's
Luis Escamilla was able to even the score 53 minutes in to 1 - 1. With 54 minutes gone, the home side took a 2 - 1 lead as
Luis Escamilla raced down the right flank and casually flipped the ball into the net after a searing cross from the far side of the pitch. As the 60 minute mark approached, the Grilled manager decided it was time for a substitution.
Moey Xin Seng reluctantly made way for
Teo Chuan Yong. Grilled made it 2 - 2 as
Paulino Trindade knocked the corner kick to
Chia Kwang Tse who whipped a low drive in off the far post. Gotta love friendly woodwork! 65 minutes into the match, the referee signaled for a JUVENTUDE substitution.
Manfredi Boccia came on for
Harun Skulić. 70 minutes into the game, JUVENTUDE wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Javier Casadevante gave
Ahmad Dahmane a quick hug as he left the field. As the 79 minute mark approached, the JUVENTUDE manager decided it was time for a substitution.
Hervé Radenac reluctantly made way for
Belisário Francischini. As JUVENTUDE's captain went off, he handed the armband to
Ahmad Dahmane.
Sascha Schäfer's well-known speed was on display as he darted past his defender and sent a beautiful pass through the defender’s legs to
Belisário Francischini who scored the 3 - 2 goal. The visitors almost came back with an equalizer 81 minutes into the match after a good combination down the middle, but
Chia Kwang Tse didn't get enough power behind the attempted finish to seriously challenge the keeper. Grilled got a chance to level the scores in minute 83 as
Teo Chuan Yong suddenly found himself free with only the keeper to beat, but the finish hit the bar. JUVENTUDE's counter-attacks were lethal to the opposing defense, allowing
朱 (Zhu) 恩豪 (Enhao) to score easily from the right side for 4 - 2.
Chia Kwang Tse of Grilled received a yellow card after 86 minutes for unsportsmanlike behavior. The players were tired, but when the referee announced that there would be 2 minutes of added time, they welcomed the extra opportunity to make an impact. The match ends 4 - 2. Grilled had the upper hand in possession, maintaining an impressive 56 percent possession of the ball.
The most outstanding JUVENTUDE player was without a doubt
朱 (Zhu) 恩豪 (Enhao). Good thing
Sascha Schäfer isn't a horse, because he'd surely be sent to the glue factory after that performance. Grilled's best player was
Chan Ze Han. You can tell it was nickel beer night yesterday at the local bar because
Gilbert Webb seemed to stumble all over the pitch.
