Grilled Birds started the game in a 2-5-3 formation, whereas TJ Sokol Dolná Lehota lined up in a 4-4-2. Grilled went for a narrow approach, using their mythical (17) ability to focus their attacks down the middle. For their match strategy, Lehota had decided to use their world class (13) ability to counter-attack whenever possible. Central attacks were the recipe of the day for Grilled, and they were successfully passing the ball from the wing into the middle at the behest of their coach. Grilled took the lead 36 minutes in, after
Gandhik Chitre's awkward, but ultimately successful, shot from the right. 1 - 0. With 37 minutes played, Lehota's
František Inaň received a yellow card for challenging a play with his cleats first. Lehota had a great opportunity to score following a counter-attack after 41 minutes, but
Calvino Huenumilla's shot from the left sailed high over the bar. 1 - 0 was the halftime score. Grilled set the tempo, maintaining 73 percent of possession.
As the 46 minute mark approached, the Grilled manager decided it was time for a substitution.
Kalki Parvathaneni reluctantly made way for
Chia Kwang Tse. With the clock showing 46 minutes, the fourth official held up the substitution board.
Bilal Mohammad Harun looked to see that it was his number in red, so he made his way over to the sideline and swapped out for
Chad Thach, though he would have liked to continue. 60 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Moey Xin Seng gave
Teo Chuan Yong a quick hug as he left the field.
Chia Kwang Tse seemed to fly off the ground as the corner came into the box, but his header went straight to the man on the post. Lehota's counter-attacks were lethal to the opposing defense, allowing
Dirck Westrell to score easily from the right side for 1 - 1. Lehota's defense sent a ball soaring up the middle on a beautiful counter-attack with 84 minutes gone, but
Cyril Kartňák's finish was met by the firm hands of the keeper. Feeling like a boy about to meet his girlfriend's father for the first time, the inexperienced Lehota struggled to maintain their level of play after 86 minutes. With the clock showing 88 minutes played, a great pass from the defensive line of Lehota resulted in a counter-attack that was smoothly brought under control by
Dirck Westrell in the center of the opposition's penalty area, but his finish went high. The referee decided to let play continue for an additional 1 beyond the regular 90 minutes. The match ends 1 - 1. Grilled did a good job holding on to the ball, with 74 percent of possession. We'll be back after these interminable commercial messages.
Chan Ze Han performed admirably for Grilled. Good thing
Gilbert Webb isn't a horse, because he'd surely be sent to the glue factory after that performance. The most outstanding Lehota player was without a doubt
Oliver Bidlenčík. I can't remember
František Inaň ever having a worse night than he just had.
