It was to be a contest between two different football philosophies, since the home team started the game with a 2-5-3 formation while the visitors instead opted for a 3-5-2. Grilled used their mythical (17) ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the field. The 23 minute mark saw the home team take a 1 - 0 lead after a breaking through on the left. The scorer for Grilled was
Kalki Parvathaneni. Grilled added another goal to their lead as
Aw Keng Chuan struck home for 2 - 0 after an attack from the left set him up unmarked in front of the keeper. Grilled's
Bilal Mohammad Harun saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates 31 minutes in. 42 minutes into the game, Grilled's
Gandhik Chitre tried to nail the coffin shut, but his shot from the left glanced off the top of the bar to fall behind the net. 43 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defense had to look on as
Moey Xin Seng ran straight through, knocking one home to make it 3 - 0 for Grilled. 3 - 0 was the score after the first half. Grilled had the upper hand in possession, maintaining an impressive 72 percent possession of the ball.
46 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Kalki Parvathaneni gave
Chia Kwang Tse a quick hug as he left the field. 46 minutes into the match, the referee signaled for a Grilled substitution.
Chad Thach came on for
Bilal Mohammad Harun. With the clock showing 60 minutes, the fourth official held up the substitution board.
Moey Xin Seng looked to see that it was his number in red, so he made his way over to the sideline and swapped out for
Teo Chuan Yong, though he would have liked to continue. After 68 minutes, the Cathedral coach wanted to see a new face on the field, waving
Abel Solache off.
Salva Campi took his place. As Cathedral's captain went off, he handed the armband to
Salva Campi. Grilled's
Chan Ze Han had an excellent opportunity 70 minutes in, shooting after bringing down a ball from the right, but he missed the goal by miles! As the 72 minute mark approached, the Cathedral manager decided it was time for a substitution.
Onochie Mahougbe reluctantly made way for
Sascha Friedrich Pulst. After 77 minutes, the Cathedral coach wanted to see a new face on the field, waving
Gonzalo Nievas Peña off.
Zigmunds Tālzems took his place. In minute 78,
Bhavya Panigrahi put Grilled ahead 4 - 0 with a tremendous free kick. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Grilled's
Gandhik Chitre bringing the lead up to 5 - 0.
Bhavya Panigrahi increased Grilled's lead to 6 - 0 with a penalty spot cannonball.
Xoaquín Seoane was caught napping as
Bhavya Panigrahi lifted a ball over him following a free kick, but the ball hit the bar, rebounding into the keeper's arms. As the match nears its end, the referee deemed it appropriate to add 2 minutes as stoppage time. The match ends 6 - 0. Well, look at this! Cardi B is on the Enormotron in naught but giant sunglasses, red tassles, and a Lionsclub Pfusistan tank top. I've not seen anything like it before.
Chan Ze Han performed admirably for Grilled. Good thing
Gilbert Webb isn't a horse, because he'd surely be sent to the glue factory after that performance. Cathedral's top performer was clearly
Esteve Bofill. I can't remember
Sascha Friedrich Pulst ever having a worse night than he just had.
