Grilled 3 - 2 Erdinger74
It was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 2780 that came out to
The Cooking Pot.
Mikk Mae was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Ruslan Tskhadadze and
Bart 'Bart' van Bart. For some players the sunny weather was bad news. It made Powerful and Quick players a bit sluggish. For Technical players, it was instead an advantage, allowing them to shine on the pitch. The following players took the field for Grilled:
Vadalà -
Mangoye,
Keng Chuan -
Teck Fu,
An Keng,
Chitre,
Khairul,
Trindade -
Jian Hui,
Velho,
Jaška.
The following players had been chosen by Erdinger74:
Hedman -
Prieto,
Nájera,
Koytak -
Heintze,
Dyka,
Ferrand,
Panóias,
Oppenheim -
Klementovic,
Callari.
Grilled Birds fielded a 2-5-3 lineup. For Erdinger74, the formation of choice was 3-5-2. Erdinger74 were mostly trying to use their brilliant (11) skill at attacking on the flanks. Grilled nearly produced a goal as
Atang Mangoye set up
Yee Jian Hui for a strike from a seemingly impossible angle. However he put the shot narrowly wide. Many thought
Mohd Marzuki Khairul ought to have been awarded a penalty 26 minutes into the game, as he went down trying to dribble around
Thomas Hedman after a determined run through the middle. After 28 minutes, Erdinger74 put themselves up 0 - 1, as
Davide Luigi Callari finished off a strike from the left with a real cannonball of a shot. 0 - 1 was the score after the first half. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 64 percent of possession.
Lim An Keng would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise.
Chia Kwang Tse entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 46 minutes. Sensing defeat in the air, the Grilled manager directed
Hwang Teck Fu and
Gandhik Chitre to change positions with each other. This was 46 minutes into the match. As the 46 minute mark approached, the Grilled coach decided it was time for a substitution.
José Luiz Velho reluctantly made way for
Chan Ze Han on the pitch. As
José Luiz Velho left the field, the coach signaled to
Chan Ze Han to be the new set pieces taker. After 58 minutes,
Paulino Trindade made a dash down the middle past the away team's defenders to score the goal that made it 1 - 1. 65 minutes in, the referee awarded Grilled a penalty.
Chan Ze Han coolly slotted it home for a 2 - 1 lead.
Gandhik Chitre should probably have put his team up another goal after 70 minutes after breaking through the middle, but some great goalkeeping by
Thomas Hedman kept the visitors in the game.
Alois Heintze finished off the counterattack of Erdinger74 from the left rather easily, making the score 2 - 2. Grilled's
Yee Jian Hui got himself booked for a foul.
Sancho Panóias was unable to continue, following a slight injury to his right knee after 74 minutes. This gave
Raymond Kirkley a chance to take to the field instead.
Hwang Teck Fu gave Grilled the lead as he successfully challenged the guests' central defenders, then slotted the ball into the bottom corner, giving the keeper no chance. 3 - 2 80 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Radovan Jaška gave
Egemen Dinçer Ferzan a quick hug as he left the field. As the match nears its end, the referee has deemed it appropriate to add 3 minutes as stoppage time. The match ends 3 - 2. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 63 percent.
The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt
Chan Ze Han.
Atang Mangoye turned in a dismal performance, however. Erdinger74's top performer was clearly
Raymond Kirkley.
Salih Koytak on the other hand, had a terrible day.
