Grilled Birds fielded a 2-5-3 lineup. For Winnetou Reborn, the formation of choice was 3-5-2. Grilled seemed to prefer attacking in the middle, taking advantage of their titanic (15) level with that tactic.
Levi Cockman made one of his many fine passes from the wing into the middle 16 minutes into the match.
Carlo Monteverde bravely attempted to execute a diving header and the ball was met firmly with his forehead for Winnetou. 0 - 1. The crowd roared in delight as
Moey Xin Seng finished off a spectacular series of passes through the middle to even the score for Grilled 23 minutes into the match. 1 - 1. Grilled had a chance to take the lead after
Teo Chuan Yong's dazzling drive up the left, but the opportunity fizzled out as his shot went just over the bar after 31 minutes.
Bhavya Panigrahi was very close to giving Grilled the lead with an ingenious free kick routine 33 minutes into the match, but the ball just grazed the bar. The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to
Damian Hutter, but the Grilled player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 2 - 1! Grilled were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally.
Kalki Parvathaneni should probably have put his team up another goal after 40 minutes after breaking through the middle, but some great goalkeeping by
Martin Křovina kept the visitors in the game. 2 - 1 was the score after the first half. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 71 percent of the ball.
Chad Thach would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise.
Chia Kwang Tse entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 46 minutes. After 46 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving
Moey Xin Seng off the field.
Bilal Mohammad Harun took his place. As the captain was no longer on the pitch,
Bilal Mohammad Harun took over the role of being the Grilled captain. 65 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution.
Egemen Dinçer Ferzan came on for
Kalki Parvathaneni. It was obvious that team Grilled had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings.
Bilal Mohammad Harun could have increased the lead after 70 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. Grilled's
Teo Chuan Yong saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 74 minutes. 84 minutes in, Grilled's
Teo Chuan Yong received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. The players were tired, but when the referee announced that there would be 1 minute of added time they, nonetheless, welcomed the extra opportunity to make an impact. The match ends 2 - 1. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 69 percent.
Lim An Keng performed admirably for Grilled. On the other hand,
Teo Chuan Yong's play was disheartening. Most important Winnetou player was
Artur Sá.
Evgeniy Gladilov was a disappointment, however.
