TSV Ottobrunn Fussball trundled out to the pitch in a 5-1-2 formation. The visitors, Grilled Birds, chose to start the game with a 2-5-3 lineup. For their match strategy, TSV e.V. had decided to use their mythical (17) ability to counter-attack whenever possible. Grilled took a creative approach on the field. TSV e.V.'s
Frederik Drya rushed past his defender and should have scored, but the finish was just wide, taking some paint off the post as it went out. TSV e.V.'s defense sent a ball soaring up the middle on a beautiful counter-attack with 21 minutes gone, but
Dominik Bojs's finish was met by the firm hands of the keeper. 30 minutes into the game, TSV e.V. seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a inadequate (5) level of organization. A corner kick created massive confusion in the penalty area, with a near-goal by
Kalki Parvathaneni. At last, Grilled's
Chan Ze Han was able to will the ball into the net. 0 - 1.
Kalki Parvathaneni was, after 40 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the center, but the home side's keeper
Franklyn Perazo made the save. With 41 minutes gone,
Frederik Drya suddenly found himself completely free on the right wing when a counter-attack by TSV e.V. caught their opponents by surprise. Only a great save by the opposing keeper prevented him from scoring. With 44 minutes played, Grilled's
Aw Keng Chuan received a yellow card for challenging a play with his cleats first. The home keeper was stunned 44 minutes into the match when he misjudged the free kick by
Bhavya Panigrahi and dove in the wrong direction. The visitors increased the lead to 0 - 2. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 2. Grilled had the upper hand in possession, maintaining an impressive 83 percent possession of the ball.
The TSV e.V. coach might have gone through a whole marker putting the playbook up on the board, but it seemed to have worked, with the team regaining a solid (7) organization for the second half. After 46 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the field, waving
Kalki Parvathaneni off.
Lim An Keng took his place. 52 minutes in, TSV e.V. appeared unsure on how to play and their organization was only inadequate (5). TSV e.V.'s
Leon Sommer showed off his trademark ability to do the unexpected with a tricky pass after 58 minutes. Unfortunately,
Roberto Zerbo was startled by the play and scuffed the finish. As the 80 minute mark approached, the Grilled manager decided it was time for a substitution.
Moey Xin Seng reluctantly made way for
Chia Kwang Tse. TSV e.V. mounted an inspired counter-attack down the right wing after 84 minutes, but
Gabriel Flood was unable to convert from short range. A penalty was missed by Grilled's
Bhavya Panigrahi 88 minutes into the match. Probably overconfident, he blasted a hard shot miles outside of the left post. The players were tired, but when the referee announced that there would be 1 minutes of added time, they welcomed the extra opportunity to make an impact. The match ends 0 - 2. Grilled did a good job holding on to the ball, with 85 percent of possession. We'll be back after these interminable commercial messages.
TSV e.V.'s top performer was clearly
Franklyn Perazo. Speaking of stinking up the place,
Milan Los sure smelled like the bottom of Batman's shoe after a night of crimefighting in Gotham.
Chan Ze Han performed admirably for Grilled. I can't remember
Enrique Baena ever having a worse night than he just had.
