TARANTINO 2 - 4 Grilled

Fairly good weather for football at the stadium today. They fielded: Bataillie - Calabrò, Gendron - Hendel, Sojka, Mari, Valenta, Janshen - Žůrek, Jukarainen, Tylšar.

Lineup: Germanakos - Panigrahi, Webb - Baena, Mohammad Harun, Keng Chuan, Parvathaneni, Trindade - Ze Han, Velho, Xin Seng.

The teams stopped and stared at each other - it was like they were looking in a mirror, since they both lined up in a 2-5-3 formation. TARANTINO were mostly trying to use their utopian (19) skill at attacking on the flanks. Grilled mostly ignored the flanks in favor of their utopian (19) ability to attack in the middle. Grilled players heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead. 0 - 1 was the score after 3 minutes, when Grilled's Kalki Parvathaneni cut through the central defense and pounded one in. The visitors nearly scored again after 5 minutes, but a superb save by Gaston Bataillie kept Bhavya Panigrahi's free kick out of the net. Central attacks were the recipe of the day for Grilled, and they were successfully passing the ball from the wing into the middle at the behest of their coach. A thrilling play through the middle after 12 minutes gave Grilled's José Luiz Velho a chance to increase the lead, and he happily obliged. The score was then 0 - 2. Grilled came close to extending their lead as Moey Xin Seng delivered a low effort on goal from the right but the angle was too sharp, and the shot was destined for the side netting. With their counter-attack move halted after 19 minutes, TARANTINO were left with a free kick. The ball was passed straight through to the other end of the penalty area, in an attempt to get it to Gilberto Mari. However, he didn't control well and the ball went out. TARANTINO's Tomáš Valenta was shown a yellow card after 21 minutes for slicing down an opponent. Grilled already had the lead, so Chan Ze Han probably won't be too disappointed that his speculative shot from the right 23 minutes in fell wide of the goal. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 2. Well, look at this! Cardi B is on the Enormotron in naught but giant sunglasses, red tassles, and a Millinocket Moose tank top. I've not seen anything like it before. As the 46 minute mark approached, the Grilled manager decided it was time for a substitution. Kalki Parvathaneni reluctantly made way for Lim An Keng. 46 minutes into the match, the referee signaled for a Grilled substitution. Prokop Mottl came on for José Luiz Velho. The visitors' Lim An Keng took advantage of a mix-up between the home side's goalie and center backs 66 minutes into the match. 0 - 3 for Grilled. After 67 minutes of game time, Enrique Baena had an excellent opportunity to add to the visitors' lead, hitting a cross from the right with a half volley, but Gaston Bataillie was in the right place and tipped the ball to a corner. Grilled's Enrique Baena received a ball slotted perfectly through the home side's central defense after 74 minutes, and chipped it past the helpless keeper to increase the lead to 0 - 4. The away fans won't regret traveling for this one! TARANTINO reduced the lead to 1 - 4 after 78 minutes when Dino Calabrò got the best of a lazy ball floated in from the left side. TARANTINO's Fabien Gendron got the home crowd going bananas when he finished off a left wing bull rush, reducing the away team's lead to 2 - 4. With the clock showing 80 minutes, the fourth official held up the substitution board. Bilal Mohammad Harun looked to see that it was his number in red, so he made his way over to the sideline and swapped out for Chia Kwang Tse, though he would have liked to continue. As the match nears its end, the referee deemed it appropriate to add 1 minutes as stoppage time. The match ends 2 - 4. Grilled had the upper hand in possession, maintaining an impressive 55 percent possession of the ball.

Gilberto Mari performed admirably for TARANTINO. You can tell it was nickel beer night yesterday at the local bar because Lukáš Žůrek seemed to stumble all over the pitch. The most outstanding Grilled player was without a doubt Chan Ze Han. I can't remember Paulino Trindade ever having a worse night than he just had.
