Grilled Birds fielded a 2-5-3 lineup. For Schopenhauers, the formation of choice was a 3-5-2. Grilled clearly preferred using their utopian (19) ability to attack in the middle today. Schopenhauers displayed their ability to play creatively. With 34 minutes played
Chan Ze Han almost put the home team one ahead on a cross coming in from the right, but the shot went just wide. A foul after 35 minutes resulted in a free kick.
Bhavya Panigrahi crushed it, giving the home team the lead 1 to 0. After 36 minutes, Grilled were awarded a free kick. Rather than shooting straight at goal, the kicker went for an indirect variant which seemed to take his teammates a bit by surprise.
Enrique Baena did manage a finish, but from an awkward position, sending the ball out of bounds. A wonderful trick by
Stefan Ofner after 38 minutes left
Bilal Mohammad Harun bewildered and really deserved to end in a goal but the keeper made a fine save. The visitors got just what they'd been looking for after 39 minutes when
Pancrazio Salgaro received a pass from the left and buried it in the bottom corner, leveling it at 1 - 1. Grilled were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up coming through the center. Making his way up the middle after 40 minutes,
Jos Luiz Velho almost managed to sneak a goal past the visitors' keeper, but
Rafa Blanco was ready and blocked it to keep the score level. A corner kick created massive confusion in the penalty area, with a near-goal by
Gilbert Webb. At last, Grilled's
Paulino Trindade was able to will the ball into the net. 2 - 1. 42 minutes into the game, Grilled's
Moey Xin Seng tried to nail the coffin shut, but his shot from the left glanced off the top of the bar to fall behind the net. With 43 minutes played, the visitors could have scored the tying goal after
Pancrazio Salgaro came through the middle, but his kick went wide. Halftime score was 2 - 1. Grilled set the tempo, maintaining 63 percent of possession.
With the clock showing 46 minutes, the fourth official held up the substitution board.
Kalki Parvathaneni looked to see that it was his number in red, so he made his way over to the sideline and swapped out for
Lim An Keng, though he would have liked to continue. As the 46 minute mark approached, the Grilled manager decided it was time for a substitution.
Jos Luiz Velho reluctantly made way for
Prokop Mottl.
Bilal Mohammad Harun let loose a swerving effort from the right that the visitors' keeper did well to tip wide. Schopenhauers's coach was furious with
Ramzi Bazzi after he picked up a yellow for saying one too many words to the ref.
Vtor Marques Tavares finished off a quick charge from the left of the field by chipping the ball just over the home side's keeper, making the score 2 - 2 74 minutes into the game. After 76 minutes, Schopenhauers's lack of experience resulted in the team's loss of their edge at the end of the game. After 80 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the field, waving
Bilal Mohammad Harun off.
Chia Kwang Tse took his place. The guests almost went up by a goal with 80 minutes elapsed when
Stefan Ofner came through from the right. The shot bounced harmlessly off the post, though. After a fine move down the middle
Enrique Baena nearly put the home side one up with 81 minutes played. His final touch escaped him though and the keeper smothered the ball. The fourth official announced that there would be 1 minutes of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over. The match ends 2 - 2. Well, look at this! Cardi B is on the Enormotron in naught but giant sunglasses, red tassles, and a Millinocket Moose tank top. I've not seen anything like it before. Grilled's best player was
Chan Ze Han. Speaking of stinking up the place,
Paulino Trindade sure smelled like the bottom of Batman's shoe after a night of crimefighting in Gotham. Most important Schopenhauers player was
Stefan Ofner. You can tell it was nickel beer night yesterday at the local bar because
Pancrazio Salgaro seemed to stumble all over the pitch.
