Allstar-Team SAALFELDEN started the game in a 3-5-2 formation, whereas Grilled Birds lined up in a 2-5-3. Allstar-Team showed off their creative tactics. Grilled mostly ignored the flanks in favor of their utopian (19) ability to attack in the middle. After 8 minutes, the excellent pass from the wing by Grilled's
Enrique Baena reached
Moey Xin Seng's head, and he is not one to miss such an opportunity - 0 - 1. After 30 minutes of play,
Jasper Conrath equalized for Allstar-Team after a hard charging attack from the right. Grilled had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle instead. Down the middle came
Moey Xin Seng, making a fantastic play that nearly saw Grilled take the lead after 31 minutes, but
Sergio Augusto Canotilho preserved the tie. Allstar-Team had a good opportunity to take the lead as
Alberto De Carli came up the left side, but he struck the ball weakly and it went straight into the arms of
Dimitris Germanakos. The home crowd breathed a collective sigh of relief when
Kalki Parvathaneni was unable to give the visitors the go-ahead goal after his attack from the left in minute 34. Allstar-Team had a chance to take the lead after
Kristian Truelsen's dazzling drive up the left, but the opportunity fizzled away as his shot went just over the bar with 38 minutes played. After more pushing and shoving than a pack of helicopter moms trying to get the last appointment for their snowflakes to see the Easter Bunny, Allstar-Team's
Spiros Gagkidis finally got himself booked for a foul. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 1. Looks like Nate Silver was right again - his prediction that Allstar-Team would have 52 percent possession in this half was spot on!
46 minutes into the match, the referee signaled for a Grilled substitution.
Lim An Keng came on for
Kalki Parvathaneni. As the 46 minute mark approached, the Grilled manager decided it was time for a substitution.
José Luiz Velho reluctantly made way for
Prokop Mottl. Allstar-Team fans held their breath as
Anton Ruusila gallivanted down the left side. He successfully avoided all challenges and fired home the go-ahead goal for 2 - 1! Allstar-Team solidified their lead at the 64 minute mark, as
Kristian Truelsen snaked the ball through the central line of defense and finished for 3 - 1. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Allstar-Team's
Kristian Truelsen bringing the lead up to 4 - 1. Big paper red cards were being held up by the opposing supporters with 74 minutes on the clock after
Prokop Mottl's mistimed tackle from behind. The referee only showed the Grilled player a yellow card though. 80 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Bilal Mohammad Harun gave
Chia Kwang Tse a quick hug as he left the field. As the match nears its end, the referee deemed it appropriate to add 2 minutes as stoppage time.
Jasper Conrath almost seemed to dance around
Chia Kwang Tse, his movements were so smooth. Unfortunately for Allstar-Team, his shot ended up on the wrong side of the post. The match ends 4 - 1. Allstar-Team did a good job holding on to the ball, with 56 percent of possession. We'll be back after these interminable commercial messages.
The most outstanding Allstar-Team player was without a doubt
Alberto De Carli. Good thing
Concetto Cozzella isn't a horse, because he'd surely be sent to the glue factory after that performance. Grilled's best player was
Chan Ze Han. Even six year old fans were wincing at the poor play by
Enrique Baena today.
