The teams had chosen different formations for the match. The home team, Dark Assassin, went for a 3-5-2, while Grilled Birds has decided to play a 2-5-3 lineup. Grilled seemed to prefer attacking in the middle, using their utopian (19) ability to great effect. Grilled players heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead. Grilled had several good opportunities to take the lead, especially 5 minutes in when
Bilal Mohammad Harun found himself alone with
Methee Srirattanasobhon who managed a block. Grilled had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle instead. Down the middle came
Moey Xin Seng, making a fantastic play that nearly saw Grilled take the lead after 11 minutes, but
Methee Srirattanasobhon preserved the tie. After 22 minutes, Assassin's
Mauro Leonardi ran past
Bhavya Panigrahi like he was standing still to put away the 1 - 0 goal. His teammates looked on in disbelief as an own goal by
Enrique Baena changed the score to 2 - 0 after 33 minutes.
Mauro Leonardi increased Assassin's lead to 3 - 0, connecting with a hooked ball from the right. The away fans are claiming handball, to no avail. 3 - 0 was the score after the first half. Grilled had the upper hand in possession, maintaining an impressive 56 percent possession of the ball.
With the clock showing 46 minutes, the fourth official held up the substitution board.
José Luiz Velho looked to see that it was his number in red, so he made his way over to the sideline and swapped out for
Prokop Mottl, though he would have liked to continue. Though they were still down, Grilled managed to cut down on the home lead after
Bhavya Panigrahi sent the keeper the wrong way on his penalty kick. 3 - 1 after 48 minutes. The clock read 56 minutes and things were deteriorating for the away team as Assassin scored another to make it 4 - 1 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for
Mauro Leonardi. At that,
Mauro Leonardi was noted down for a hattrick! A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Assassin's
Silvano Bottura bringing the lead up to 5 - 1.
Aw Keng Chuan had a good opportunity to reply with a break through the middle, but the home team's goalkeeper
Methee Srirattanasobhon just wouldn't be beat. 80 minutes into the match, the referee signaled for a Grilled substitution.
Chad Thach came on for
Aw Keng Chuan. The referee decided to let play continue for an additional 2 beyond the regular 90 minutes. The match ends 5 - 1. Well, look at this! Cardi B is on the Enormotron in naught but giant sunglasses, red tassles, and a Disgustin tank top. I've not seen anything like it before. Assassin's top performer was clearly
Khổng Đức Chinh. You can tell it was nickel beer night yesterday at the local bar because
Nenad Jocić seemed to stumble all over the pitch.
Chan Ze Han performed admirably for Grilled. I can't remember
Manuel Vadalà ever having a worse night than he just had.
