The teams had chosen different formations for the match. Home team Arcturules went for 5-2-3 while Grilled Birds has decided to play a 2-5-3 lineup. Arcturules clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could, taking advantage of their mythical (17) level with that tactic. Grilled clearly preferred using their magical (18) ability to attack in the middle. It was obvious that team Grilled had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings. Arcturules showed their counterattack skill 6 minutes into the match by breaking through the middle, with José Ortega Molina scoring uncontested for 1 - 0. Bhavya Panigrahi could have made it all square after 33 minutes, if only his free kick had been a few inches to the other side of the post. Innocent Mpondo was in the clear after breaking the offside trap following a Arcturules counterattack from the left after 34 minutes. His neat finish made the score 2 - 0. Following a nasty collision in the 37, Arcturules's Jonás Pedrón complained of a damaged shoulder. He was advised against continuing the game. Uygar Mebruk tried to hide a smile as he entered the field. He had not expected to get a chance this day. Halftime score was 2 - 0. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 63 percent of the time.

Grilled players heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead. The referee showed Arcturules's Otto Zechendorf the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. 80 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game. Bilal Mohammad Harun gave Prokop Mottl a quick hug as he left the field. Anis Kheir Allah finished off the counterattack of Arcturules from the left rather easily, making the score 3 - 0. 89 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution. Kalki Parvathaneni came on for Moey Xin Seng. As the captain was no longer on the pitch, Chan Ze Han took over the role of being the Grilled captain. The referee announced 2 minutes of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over. The match ends 3 - 0. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 61 percent of the ball.

Most important Arcturules player was Innocent Mpondo. José Ortega Molina turned in a dismal performance, however. Grilled's top performer was clearly Chan Ze Han. However, Paulino Trindade made a disastrous appearance.
