ShirvanFC trundled out to the pitch in a 3-5-2 formation. The visitors, Grilled Birds, chose to start the game with a 2-5-3 lineup. Grilled used their divine (20) ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the field. Oh, it's a stupendous shot on goal! A Caravaggio! A Michelangelo! A Venus on the Half Shell! 12 minutes into the match and Roluf Maciossek has created art for the ages for ShirvanFC, putting them ahead 1 - 0. Oh, I'm weeping. I can't stop my eyes. Big paper red cards were being held up by the opposing supporters with 26 minutes on the clock after Teo Chuan Yong's mistimed tackle from behind. The referee only showed the Grilled player a yellow card though. Coming through the middle José Luiz Velho almost scored the equalizer for Grilled after 27 minutes, but Espoir Khasa made an excellent save, tipping the awkward swerving shot past the post. Grilled's right side looked dangerous 36 minutes in, but Espoir Khasa made a good save on Chan Ze Han's hard shot towards the top corner. ShirvanFC's Bouzid Kajaj saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates 37 minutes in. With 38 minutes played, ShirvanFC's Ingo Wilfling received a yellow card for challenging a play with his cleats first. After 39 minutes, the visitors evened the score after Kalki Parvathaneni made it through the middle and struck home making it 1 - 1. 1 - 1 was the score after the first half. Looks like Nate Silver was right again - his prediction that Grilled would have 54 percent possession in this half was spot on!

After 65 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the field, waving Moey Xin Seng off. Lim An Keng took his place. Chan Ze Han became the new Grilled captain. The game had been going for 77 minutes when Azər Ələsgərov came in on the right, feinted, then sped past the off-balance defender to put away the 2 - 1 goal, giving ShirvanFC the lead. As the 80 minute mark approached, the Grilled manager decided it was time for a substitution. Enrique Baena reluctantly made way for Chad Thach. With the clock showing 80 minutes, the fourth official held up the substitution board. Bilal Mohammad Harun looked to see that it was his number in red, so he made his way over to the sideline and swapped out for Mohd Marzuki Khairul, though he would have liked to continue. 81 minutes into the game, Bhavya Panigrahi almost tied it all up for the visitors with an expertly placed free kick. Unfortunately for Grilled, the home keeper made an incredible save. Bhavya Panigrahi could have tied the game after 82 minutes, if his free kick had gone just a few inches to the left. Grilled's José Luiz Velho was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 84 minutes. A cross coming in on the right hand side left Chan Ze Han alone in front of the goal after 85 minutes but his shot wasn't taken well. The referee decided to let play continue for an additional 1 beyond the regular 90 minutes. The match ends 2 - 1. Well, look at this! Cardi B is on the Enormotron in naught but giant sunglasses, red tassles, and a Disgustin tank top. I've not seen anything like it before. ShirvanFC's best player was Orxan Cəfərov. Speaking of stinking up the place, Thibault Vrignon sure smelled like the bottom of Batman's shoe after a night of crimefighting in Gotham. Chan Ze Han performed admirably for Grilled. Even six year old fans were wincing at the poor play by Kalki Parvathaneni today.
